Could you though?

Yes.

Bama ‘10 is the only one I’ll give you here. Going for it 5 times against UF in ‘07 was just ballsy, that has nothing to do with great coaching. You and I could’ve been the coach and made that decision with sabans players and been successful.

You're fricking joke. Won't waste another moment on you. Stay salty.

PLAYOFFS!!?? PLAYOFFS!!?

Watching his teams play was like eating way too much salt, smoking a pack of cigarettes , eating 3 big Macs and wondering why my heart is pounding.

But there is no denying he was a great coach for a good part of this career.

That goofball was nowhere near being a great coach.

Les Miles was an elite recruiter and an above average coach in his first 6 years at LSU when playing power football and stout defense still won games.

He was possibly the worst in game/clock manager in the history of the game. He also relied too much on crazy trick plays and gambles, and like any gambler, his luck eventually ran cold. On top of that he stubbornly refused to adjust when the rest of college football moved to the spread and lost the edge that his superior talent provided.

He's still one of the better coaches that LSU has had but that's more because of the state of the program for most of the last half of the 20th century.

Wouldn't being Les Miles have made him officially ineligible?

That Kansas job fricked his win percentage big time. He’d still be eligible if not for that.

Good he didn’t belong nowhere near a hall of fame.

You'd think even if Les was still eligible, he still wouldn't be selected. He wasn't really a Hall of Fame caliber coach. I'd say he's about on par coaching wise with Tommy Tuberville. Les just had better talent and more patient boosters. Even though Tuberville had an undefeated season in 2004 but no Natty because of the BCS, he probably doesn't get into the Hall of Fame. Unless they do put him in so that they can claim a Senator in the Hall to go along with Osbourne serving in Congress.

There are 214 coaches in the Hall of Fame, so he’s definitely a “HOF caliber” coach based upon the standard used to induct them. Of course, with that many coaches in the Hall, it’s not really much of an honor to be inducted. Biff Jones, Bernie Moore, and Charles McClendon are all in the Hall.

I liked Les. I don’t understand how you all have such vitriol for a guy that won us an NC as well as some incredible moments.

LSU rolled over here and it’s a little gutless in my opinion.

I still can’t believe LSU allowed that moron to pull that Arkansas coaching job on us. Should have told him good luck in Arky Leslie.

Coaches need to have at least a .600 career win pct to be eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame.

I'd be willing to bet they'd have a lot more space in the hall if that were a disqualifier.
