Les and Kathy were at Perkins Row Saturday night. I was fighting crowds for light sticks and carriage rides for the kids. They may have been going to a movie. Regardless, when I passed them on sidewalk they were engaged in small talk with a security guard who was wishing them well and shaking hands.
Wish I had gotten a pic with them. Only time I've ever seem them in person together. I rode elevator down from Stadium Club with Mrs Miles at that freezing cold January 08 National Championship Celebration in TS.
And have seen Les several times over years in public. Dang it. I was too much of a scaredy puss to ask for a pic.
Anyhoots. TLDR They looked happy as can be Saturday Night.

I think Sunday was Festivus. Les is a Festivus kind of guy.

I go to the church Miles goes to. Usually, he comes late, sits in the back room, and jets at the end to avoid drawing crowds.
Something was different yesterday... he sat front and center and hung out after the service at the MAIN EXIT door and told everyone "Merry Christmas" and shook everyone's hand.

They looked like a happy recently retired and wealthy couple to me. Refreshed and festive for sure. Maybe his faux job search was enough to get the buyout paid and he really has no intentions of being a HC again.

I'll never forget what he did for Sid Ortis and Sid's family. Say what you want about his coaching gaffes, Les was a great leader and representative of LSU.
