bullshite. That’s recency bias (I think that’s the word
It was fun back in the day to watch them line up in the I formation and physically beat the shite out of teams. Watching them make teams quit in the third and fourth quarter with our stable of 3-4 backs
I enjoyed that era of football.

So, have Trump present him the Award . . .

A little harsh there, imo.
Also, hard to call him following the GOAT at the time. Yes, Saban had success at LSU for a couple of years, but he wasn't to GOAT yet, at that time. Saban would have been successful anywhere, but let's not pretend it was not a perfect set up. He was at Alabama, had by far the best talent in the country every single year, overall, and happened to coach a team that had the SEC League Office in its back yard. I'd say there were other coaches that could have also had great success with those advantages. Again, not trying to detract from him, but he had it made.

Sometimes I miss having a big fullback and just plowing through a Dline……
Those bucket helmets though….. look so terrible compared to the new style haha!

2006 is more frustrating than any of the post 2007 seasons. That was the best team in the country. Just not on 2 really important Saturdays that year.
The 2006 team was the best of the Miles era. If they had playoffs then LSU probably would have won it all.

Edit: You can add the 2007 NC somewhere in there.

Les' teams usually brought every emotion in the fans almost every game.

bullshite. We just didn't want him to be retarded. He wasted more talent than anyone I've ever seen. 2006, 2011, & 2012 all should've been championship years. Even if you say we got fricked by the refs against AU in 06 (we did) it wasn't the only loss. 2011 NCG is the most embarrassing display of "coaching" in the history of coaching. And just when LSU could've maybe turned the tide in 2012, they blew it. shite, his one saving grace was a 2-loss 2007 natty that only could even happen because of every lucky break possible happening for Less. He didn't do anything, other than lose 2 fricking games with that stacked roster.
I enjoyed the fire in those teams though. You really missed that watching the BK years. He was an elite recruiter and at one time had onions. His sayings were pretty damn funny (stiff dew) but even some of that shite got tiring. All in all he should be celebrated as he was our coach and they did get a NC, but i don't think he needs too much honor when it seems he didn't have much.

Exactly. I knew people would take issue with me saying it was a fun brand of football. But it was. Now every offense is the same. And I liked that he put future stars on STs and would intimidate opponents on the opening kickoff.
Les stocked the NFL with LSU talent and took us from a regional recruiting destination to national
Was he maddening at times? Absolutely. But I never had more fun watching football than that era. Both the highs and lows

Looking back it may be but do you not recall the fan’s frustration on this board 10-15 years ago. His offense wasn’t as fun in real time.

Oh yeah I remember it very well. Like Remy posted above
Spot on. He would make your heart race. Brian Kelly made you not even care. Les should've won a couple more nattys and 1/9/12 was inexcusable. But I've never enjoyed watching football like I did from 2005-2011

Les Miles had an ability to make a win feel like a loss that was unmatched in the history of sports
