Who are some good instructors in BR area?
Jax is the same age and experience level as BI was at the point the Lakers gave up on him. Sometimes teenagers take time.

If I moved on from him it’d have to be for something that is immediately impactful.
Is it red out again? What's the deal?
My uneducated guess:

Given that the team behind us in the standings is intentionally tanking, and the team in front of us has a significantly more difficult remaining schedule than do we, they may think that being the 9 seed is a near lock whether BI (or Zion) play or not. So therefore they take the approach of not playing them unless they’re 100% and making sure they’re available for the play in.

What is this thing supposed to do that you can’t get by just cutting out a square piece of plywood?
I recently went from a 9 to a 4. I improved my swing, yes, but I think my gains were due to changing my mental approach. So my mental tips (gleaned from Me and My Golf videos) are as follows:

1) The only thing that matters is the next shot. Focus on that. If you're still stewing over the double on the previous hole it will effect your focus. If you are fretting over holes you've yet to play it will effect your focus. If you are calculating in your head "if I only bogey the last 3 holes I'll break whatever" you will put undo pressure on yourself. I have a garmin golf watch where I enter my score. My goal is to be suprised when I enter my score on 18th green to see what I shot.

2) Don't be the bad luck guy lamenting every bad break you get on the course. Golf is full of good and bad breaks. People take for granted the good ones but wail that they got screwed when the get the bad ones. Focus on the next shot.

3) Don't be the "I suck at this hole, I always triple this hole" guy. Self fulfilling prophesy. Focus on executing the shot.

4) Unless your inside 100 yards, always aim for the center of the green. Forget about where the flag is. This is true for 3 handicaps as well as 18.

5) "A bogey is usually the result of a bad shot. A double bogey is usually the result of a stupid decision" Tom Kite
I know you really, really, really want to save par, but the odds of you hitting a 3 wood out of deep rough under a tree limb and over a pound are somewhere between 0-1%. Only attempt shots if you feel like you have a 7 out of 10 chance of being successful.

6) Don't feel compelled to explain to your playing partners every detail of your swing, technique and score. They really don't care. People only care about their own games.
Get a metronome app on your phone. Learn to make your stroke in the exact amount of time regardless of length. Start on the first tone, transition to through putt on the second tone, and complete on the 3rd tone. Then you vary the length of your stroke based on length of putt. Do that and you'll almost never 3 putt.

A couple of comments of reply:

1) Normally, it's not hard to get a tee time. At the present moment it's a challenge because people are playing because there's nothing else to do, the weather has been nice, and they're only doing tee times in 15 minute intervals due to covid. That being said, I've played every day that I've wished to do so, just maybe not at the time I was wanting to.

2) With the exception of maybe 2-3 times per year, charity tournaments are only on Mondays when the course is closed anyway

3) There are about 3 weekends on average per year when there will be a collegiate event and the course is closed to members. During those times UC reciprocates with CCLA and BRCC and they'll make you a tee time there.

I've been a member at UC for years. I don't have any complaints.
Instead of politely clapping I would've booed my A$$ off, and I've never booed anyone in my life other than Ritter
Because most of our games have been televised

atleast lou holth would pick us to win every game

Apparently this is important due to the wailing and grinding of teeth that occurs everytime he picks against us now.
Character is easy to find. Wins are not.
