Chambliss was in way tougher spot at Ole Miss last year. He was a backup qb learning a new offense under Kiffin and taking second team reps headed into the season. An injury to Austin Simmons suddenly had Chambliss starting and having to run a new offense in big SEC games right out of the chute. Ole Miss was loaded with transfer players too and Chambliss had not worked with any Ole Miss players before his arrival.
Leavitt is getting paid big NIL bucks and is getting handed the keys to a Ferrari offense. There have been a string of college qbs who have excelled in their first season with Kiffin like Chambliss, Jaxon Dart and Matt Corral. No excuses for Leavitt, I dont think he wants one.
Kiffin is a qb whisperer. I’m not worried about Leavitt not knowing the offense or not playing well, he can spin the ball and is way faster than I thought he was. I think the possibility of him getting hurt is want scares most fans. Can’t really do anything about that, just got to not play scared and see how it goes.

Put Kiffin and Leavitt together and we may see a special season. Don’t be surprised when Leavitt gets invited to NY for the Heismann Ceremony

No idea why you are getting the downvotes.
I think you are dead on saying that expectations for September should be somewhat tempered for Leavitt and the offense. He is now on his third team in four years. He did miss spring ball, is coming off surgery, and with the exception of Trey'dez Green, he and every one of his receivers is in a new town, on a new team with a new coach and new system. They are playing three ranked teams, two of them top 10, and even Tech isn''t a typical cupcake.
Throw in a fanbase that is expecting immediate results and yeah, I think his path to immediate success is indeed a tough one.
That said, I do believe we will have better play at QB and be a better offense than at the beginning of t last season, and we will see a marked improvement as the season progresses from him and the offense.

Kiffin has an ever so slightly better track record with first year QBs than Kelly or Orgeron..

Gotta say, I'm a bit concerned bout Levitt. Not a lot of reps in the spring and not sure how healthy he is. The new coaches, new teammates and lack of reps and upgrade in competition for him all have me a bit worried. Hope he erases the worry quickly.

Burrow’s first games at LSU were the first games he started and played significant minutes.

Baker’s defense kept us in every game last year despite an offense (3 yard screens and a cloud of dust) that should have been on hospice.
I think if our offense is somewhat productive, doesn’t make a ton of mistakes, the learning curve won’t be a big problem.

Joe had to learn a pretty shite offense and Jayden just had a mental barrier he had to overcome
one of my best TD takes ever was that if you watch 2022 Daniels you can see how close he was to not just being better or good but being incredible. he just wouldn’t pull the trigger when he knew he had too and was late on every throw

I didn't say a word about Nussmeier. He was hurt much of the year. Simply pointed out that Burrow and Daniels took some time to settle into the job, which they both eventually did as evident by their both winning the Heisman.
How do you get so many down votes for simply stating provable facts. I'm pulling for Leavitt making the transition more comfortably than Burrow and Daniels. He has three tough games in the first four.If he is unable to pass for well over 200 yards a game, the Tigers defense will have to play lights out. Kelly also had the top ranked transfer class last year and didn't know what to do with it. I trust Kiffin will. There are too many overly sensitive people on this site.
