Verge is a good guy, and I am ok with him as interim.
He has no business being given that role permanently however.

Why is LSU all of a sudden a "hire from within...lets see how he works out" kind of place instead of going out and getting a qualified, proven big-name homerun hire??????

FWIW, the AD of a major Power 5 program is literally the manager of several thousand employees to start. The AD is responsible for the multi million dollar budget of the athletic dept. The AD is responsible for the hiring and firing of a large number of head coaches in multiple sports...well, not at LSU, obviously....Skip was LSU's best coach ever, yet he was at best an average AD. What are Verg's qualifications with regards to any of the above? Nothing against him at all. I am just tired of LSU's good ol'boy way of running the LSU athletic dept and I see nothing new going by his political supporters.

This is what is going to happen. He will be interim AD, give the boot to one of those two for sure. Everybody knows which one! They will make a play for Woodward,no promises there, but there is some interest on both sides.

Is this a hopeful situation you made up in your head or is there legitimate interest from both sides? I don't Trust F King or the BOS to make a homerun hire like that.

Ahhh...Joe-I-never-saw-a-lake-my-car-could-not-float-in-Dean. For better or worse, he so pissed off the LSU administrators who fired him that when he showed up for a basketball game the next night, his game pass had been revoked. Bob Broadhead, a highly successful CFO of a major ship building corp, was run off by Daddy Dale, the basketball coach. This is an old,old pattern of how not to run a large athletic dept. going back many decades.
