Wow. I’ve liked Verge since he was a player but this is too big for him. This is turning out similarly to the Orgeron hire.

Do you have any facts to support your opinion on verge or are you just completely full of shite? Anyone that knows him and the quality of his work would tell you he is going to be a hell of an AD.

Ree is losing his damn mind right now.

I don’t understand his schtick. It’s really weird
It's long been assumed that Ree was a dedicated propaganda tool for Ponamsky (and thus, LSU).

LSU just faced heavy media scrutiny and criticism this past basketball season. First we had ESPN with the "LSU shouldn't have beaten Kentucky, that looked like goaltending" crap, and then we had the Wade situation with Yahoo and Dickie V napalming us.

If you have a "propaganda expert" on payroll, I'd assume you'd enlist him to counter all the negative vibes coming our way. But whoever LSU used to deal with that, they got their asses whipped badly.
LSU was changed into the national bad guy, then looked incompetent and lost when trying to respond (when they finally did). And whoever advised Alleva on how to handle himself in the spotlight needs to be fired ASAP. First he mocked and sneered at the fanbase in the Assembly Center, then he whined like some chickenshit after we won the Yale game.

I figure if "P.R" is the primary reason you're at the LSU AD right now, you're about to get fired. They failed.

Verge Ausberry’s name has been thrown out there before. I think that he is the guy Woodward would recommend if he turned down the job...

Yep I shouldn’t be surprised people are judging him based on absolutely nothing on his resume. I wonder what they are basing it on?

So Verg is a former LSU player and a good dude. What are his actual qualifications to run one of the nation's biggest and highly successful athletic departments? His political connections. And their reputations speak volumes.

I've met Verge. Nice guy.

But, you need a visionary and one with backbone to lead a program like LSU athletics. I honestly doubt he's that guy past the interim tag. Not bashing him. It's about strengths and weaknesses. He's probably a great relationships and execution guy.

Verge is articulate, poised, and well spoken. We could do a lot worse.

Too expensive. Alleva won’t pay sticker price for his replacement.

Let's be clear. I'd take Verge over Alleva a thousand times.

But, I'd also take my teenaged son over Alleva. Seriously, he would do a better job.

I hope we hire a proven top flight AD.

But, for now... If Alleva gone... Have you been to the party in my pants?

I am not bashing Verg personally but all that I have heard here is that he is a former football player, a good dude, well spoken, poised and articulate. All that I know about him professionally is that he's been in charge of football scheduling for yrs. And has strong political connections. And FWIW, EWE was / is articulate, poised and well spoken, too.

One of the PMAC people told me his exact seat location and I walked by him wearing a freshly printed "#FreeWillWade" shirt and stood in the aisle leading the section in cheering "Joe Must Go."

It was a glorious time in the PMAC that night.

I can't stand JokerJoe.

Hopefully you’re being facetious but for shits and gigs why don’t you tell us all what those specific qualifications are? I know it sounds crazy but hiring an AD is a lot different than a hiring head football coach and .......never mind it’s not worth the time explaining it and you’re probably too ignorant to understand anyway.
