maybe so, but deandre swift was out thsi game and george pickens was suspended for a half. Not to mention we had that bafoon james coley as our OC.

I know hindsight is 20/20 and all but it's just perplexing that the experts only saw 7 points difference going into that game.

it was perplexing, I dont bet a lot of money but i placed the largest bet of my life on LSU before this game.

So in 30 years, the team favored by double digits is 12-0 and covers half the time. Oof.

There was a pretty strong narrative that LSU had a bad defense at the end of 2019. Mostly based on what Ole Miss did in garbage time

It was somewhat this but LSU had kind of pushed that narrative aside against Arkansas and A&M after that.

The biggest thing I remember hearing leading up to that game was that LSU hadn't seen a defense like the Georgia defense they were about to see. And the one defense similar in Auburn had slowed them down and held them to 23 points. But that Auburn game was played on a sloppy field and LSU had still put up over 500 yards of offense. So that score was a bit skewed and should've been not nearly as close. But that was the narrative that Georgia's defense could hold down the LSU offense.

you look at that list, and it really sinks in What Florida and Alabama have accomplished in this league.

If not for Spurrier Florida would never have been Florida.

There are a lot of schools who could say the same thing about a coach. It doesn't change what they've accomplished.

anyone else completely forget mizzou went to the SEC championship two years in a row?

No, not me. How can you forget something like that, which you can throw into the faces of A&M and Ole Miss fans?

The most unreal thing to me is LSU has never played Florida once in the SECCG.

UGA was really good in 2019. Was #4 when the game happened. Some people thought they should have been in over OU even with the loss because everyone though UGA was a better team. Yall probably would have if not for the South Carolina upset. Everyone though it would be the best defense that LSU team faced (and probably was other than Clemson).

One thing that sticks out to me is double digit favorites have yet to lose in the SEC CG which doesn't bode well for us

Not too many 17.5 dogs across those years.

But absolutely zero of them had a 1 year rocket rise from the ashes like LSU under Coach Brian Kelly has.

Future sure looks to have more LSU on that list than not.

Probably because we always play them in regular season so one team will have a conference loss which usually makes the difference between which team from West and East go to ATL.

True. The only matchup between permanent opponents in all these 30 years was UGA/Auburn in 2017. But there have been a few other rematches. Top of my head LSU/Tenn in 01, LSU/UGA in 03, Auburn/SCar in 10. I have to imagine some of the Florida/Bama games had to have been rematches too.

Georgia was ranked #3 and playing in Atlanta. Can’t believe Georgia has lost so many SEC championships.

Florida has seven SEC Championships on that list with four coming in the 90’s. LSU has five with a long shot at six this year.
