Lane Kiffin-LSU should have hired him instead of BK? Yes or No? Why or Why not?

I actually wanted LSU to hire Lane Kiffin before BK was ever even mentioned. I think he’s a good coach, not perfect, but seems to be able to do more with less talent, has good rapport with his players who also seem to respect him etc.

Yes. Look what he is doing at Ole Miss. Imagine him with the LSU polo on. Thinking you are too good for an obvious choice is ridiculous and weak on the powers that be,

Kiffin still would have been left with the O car wreck to clean up and rebuild.

I don’t like Kiffin, I think he's a douche. Having said that, I could've seen Kiffin here for many years, with unmitigated fan support rivaling Saban status with the same amount of success.

He’s 1-2 against BK, lost to our sad team and Kentucky despite Ole Miss shelling out all of the portal cash. He wilts under pressure (insert pic of him turning red and dying on the sideline in October), and builds hype by beating up on FCS teams. Any time his teams have expectations they fall short. See 2013. He belongs at an Ole Miss where being good enough is good enough.

He has experience in the SEC which should be a plus compared to BK since most people think his easy ND schedule helped him be successful.

Lane would build a great legacy here. Would be the bad boys of college football and would basically be a F U tour every season and it would be awesome.

I’d take Patterson over Kiffin, Kiffin could be the OC here, not hc

What kind of legacy has Lane built at his other head coaching stops?

LSU fans: "We hate Brian Kelly! He struggles to win big games consistently and he's never won a title!"

Also LSU fans: "Gimme Lane Kiffin!"

Now that sounds enticing to me. He wouldn’t take it unless he was in real trouble at Ole Miss though.

And I’m still not sure he’d be worth all the trouble he’d cause.

Wouldn’t be any reason to ever leave LSU unless he decided to try the NFL route again which I don’t think he would. LSU would be his final stop. He’s turned Ole Miss into a contender. They can legit win it all this season.

Pat Narduzzi has more Power-5 Conference championships than Lane Kiffin.

Lane has close ties to Coach Zero. I can't picture a scenario where Woodward goes that route.

This is always amazing. The kiffin love affair.

Kiffin has been at ole Miss for four years. He’s never won the conference or the division.

He has arguably one of the top 3 talented and experienced teams in the sec this year. He lost two games to teams not as talented as his. Was out coached by the very coach you want him to replace. He has one signature victory. UGA last week.

He will lose his entire team next year. Qb, wr, entire dline, etc. they are all in for this year. Next year will be brutal for ole miss.

He is modern day Houston Nutt.

It's totally illogical. And this isn't even a defend BK take from me either.

If you don't like Brian Kelly because he's never won a title, can't win big games consistently, has gotten blown out against top teams and doesn't recruit at a high enough level, you cannot objectively be in favor of a Kiffin hire.

Which Patterson are you talking about? Gary Patterson hasn't been an HC since 2021 and has just been a consultant at Texas and Baylor. Does he want to be a HC again? Especially going through the grind of the SEC?
