LSU need to do 2 things. Raise its standards for admission and arrest people that smoke dope in public. Bring them to jail.

I’ll give Landry a chance here. Harnessing our state police for one of the largest money making events in LA is a good use of our resources. Can’t let LSU football & tailgating be disrupted by thuggery

Bulldoze Tigerland.

Also, the North gates are a primary concern. The area from W. Roosevelt to Mckinnley should all be student housing. It is walking distance to LSU campus but is nothing but slum houses, doubles and slum apartments.

How though? Landry's signature legislation is constitutional carry. It has deprived law enforcement of a huge tool in rooting out the kind of behavior that needs to be stopped.

That's not how any of this works. Also, having weed and guns together is big ol illegal, same as having alcohol and guns.

Landry is a clown. But this is the kind of thing at which me might be effective. He doesn't really worry about the "optics" of increased security and if the perpetually aggrieved will complain.

100% Alt - yes he is a clown - but in this case his need for attention and self-aggrandization will come in handy.

Felons can't carry guns. Smell weed? Stop and frisk. Find weed and guns on a felon and arrest. Word will get around. Even if they are let out in a day, it's a disincentivizing hassle.

Pretty much any street in Baton Rouge named after a President, state, indian tribe, or number should be avoided.

Unless you’ve been doing two-a-days in the summer heat while everyone house has been in the AC.

I have visited a lot of SEC venues, and I can’t think of one that has that kind of ghettofied area right off their campus
I had my life threatened practically on campus at both UGA and Alabama Columbia and Austin aren't much better. They need to clean it up, but it absolutely exists at other campuses in the conference.

It's going to hard to keep the riff raff off of campus. We had revelers by our tailgate that have never been in the area before... areas where you would never expect them.

I hope this is a phase and it doesn't stick!

Yes. In terms of improving BR quality of life you then need for DA and judges to do their part and prosecute and impose stiff sentences. Unfortunately that is unlikely today.

However, for the purposes of keeping LSU safe and welcoming for visitors on game day you don’t need the same follow-through. You can arrest them, keep them overnight and release them the next morning without prosecution and it would have the deterrent effect needed. Just make it unpleasant enough for them to stay away from campus.

For starters they can ban Randy from Walker. I heard he was running prostitution rings all day in Allen Hall area.

Dude stop busting on me - I got bills to pay.

Stop by Allen and I'll get you set up right for game day.

I lived in that area as a student. It was cheap and walkable. It was also a bit unsafe but it was cheap and close.
