It's a shame there's no video from behind the gold truck or the other side of the accident.
Cars should come with interior built in dash cams.
What's another couple of hundred when you're spending thousands on a ride.

There's a lot of truth to this. Anyone who's traveled Airline Hwy in BR has had to dodge Chargers every time they do.....

don’t understand why so many of you keep trying to use that as your argument to absolve Kyren from wrong doing.

I think they’re both to blame.
If KL stays home that day, this wreck definitely doesn’t happen. The sequence of events never even starts.
If Funyuns stays home that day, this wreck probably doesn’t happen, but actually still may have happened if someone else was following Gold Truck which would have still braked when seeing Lacy, creating the exact same circumstances.
Personally I don’t think anyone committed a jailable “crime”… it was just bad driving on both sides that combined to cause an accident. But imo Lacy’s driving was more egregiously unsafe than Funyuns and started the sequence. Therefore in civil court or with insurance, I would say Lacy shoulders greater than 50% of the blame.

I get that she wasn't paying attention etc etc but why would she turn into oncoming traffic if not pannicked by seeing a car speeding toward her head on. Honestly trying to understand.
I honestly don't think she saw Lacy's car coming at her. She very likely looked up and saw she was suddenly on the arse of the gold truck, which was pulling off to the right. She overreacted and turned sharply into another vehicle, clearly only reacting to the gold truck. That isn't the reaction of someone who is looking ahead. If she were paying attention, she would have been aware that there was an oncoming vehicle much closer to her than Lacy and another vehicle b/t the car she hit and Lacy. You don't swerve into oncoming traffic b/c you see someone 100 yards ahead of you. You swerve to your left b/c you are rapidly approaching a vehicle in front that is going to the right.
Any reasonable person also knows that Lacy's actions initiated this chain of events (the Gold truck slowing and pulling over). However, this wreck would have easily been avoided if she had been paying attention and keeping a safe distance from the truck in front of her.

It's bizarre that the 18-wheeler doesn't have a dash cam. That would have the ideal view.

Truth of the matter is, many people want Lacy to be guilty, so they believe corrupt police who doctor up videos MONTHS after they have them.
This is so fricking stupid.
Lacy was driving recklessly which caused a chain of events that led to a death. This isnt some huge conspiracy.

Truth of the matter is, many people want Lacy to be guilty, so they believe corrupt police who doctor up videos MONTHS after they have them. If the police were in the right, they show videos and body cam almost IMMEDIATELY. If there is something that could be wrong, they do everything in their power to stop the video from being seen and take their sweet time on releasing a doctored video of it. They want people to forget it. Why do you think they IMMEDIATELY put their video out after the attorney's video blows up everywhere? Why was the video not released ANY time over the last 8+ months? If you want Lacy to be guilty, for whatever reason, you believe the LSP lie. Cop corruption is MASSIVE in this country and they are always paying out the arse with taxpayer money for what they do.
What do you think the angle is for the LSP to tamper with this case?

I just haven’t seen any evidence that the egregiously unsafe aspects of Lacy’s driving played a role in the accident. He was back in his lane more than the legally required distance ahead of oncoming traffic and was back down to legal speed. It was a no passing zone due to the number of businesses along the road side and the potential for cars to enter the highway from those businesses not anticipating an oncoming car driving against the flow of traffic. That wasn’t a factor in this case. If there had been no businesses in that area and it had been a legal passing zone, Lacy making a legal pass still would have started the chain of events and the woman still would have caused the crash due to her inattentiveness, driving too fast, and following too closely. Would you still assign most of the blame to someone who executed a legal pass and returned to their lane more than the legally required distance away? If not, then what aspects of what Lacy did do you think contributed more to the crash?

Both passing in the wrong lane of travel and following too close are bad driving IMO. Both bad.
But to me, passing in the wrong lane of travel is a really risky/egregious driving act. Whether it’s a no passing zone or not, driving in the wrong lane of travel is really aggressive and dangerous, with the potential for a head-on collision.
Following someone too close could reasonably end in a rear-end collision. Passing in the wrong lane of travel could reasonably end in head-on collision. While both bad, of course, to me a head-on collision is worse… especially considering passing would usually include a very fast (over the limit) speed.
While following too close or not paying attention can absolutely be dangerous, I personally don’t consider it as egregious as speeding in the wrong lane of travel and passing cars.
There’s no right or wrong answer here, obviously we all have opinions. I’m just giving mine that while both drivers did bad things, I think Lacy’s driving was worse and had more potential to result in a critical/major accident.

Unless you decide to hit someone head on to avoid rear-end'ing someone else, Id agree with your synopsis.

Yeah. People want it to fit in a nice little bow where he started it so it's his fault whatever happens after.
If im driving an uber with a family in it and someone speeds past me and another vehicle at 130mph on a motorcycle and cuts in front of us and im following closely and the car in front hits their brakes and i swerve off and hit a tree and kill the passenger who is to blame? The motorcycle started the chain driving illegally that led to my actions, but are they responsible for my reaction?

What appears to be lost on people in this whole argument is that Lacy was never actually formally charged with negligent homicide.
Despite having video evidence of Lacy’s illegal and wreckless driving and MULTIPLE eyewitnesses at the scene saying “the green charger caused the wreck”, the DA still chose to send it to a Grand Jury instead of formally charging Lacy with a felony. Given the evidence they had, seems like a very reasonable thing to do, not like they were “out to get him”.
It was ultimately going to be up to a Grand Jury, after hearing ALL of the evidence, to decide if Lacy should be formally charged with negligent homicide. If Ory’s case is as strong as he makes it seem, the case is dismissed and never even goes to trial and Lacy goes on with his life and can still pursue an NFL career. The only person who took that opportunity away from Lacy, is Lacy when he took his own life.

You and the person you responded to are idiots.
Kyren is the reason the accident happen. Trying to say he didn’t cause this is ignorant and idiotic.
Lady in the Kia is also the reason the accident happen.
Both can be and are true.
