Kim is allowing Van Lith to realize the PG experiment isn’t working.

HVL must get back to doing what she does best. And it’s not running the offense. She can’t beat anybody off the dribble.

This. At no point does anyone have to leave their guy (girl?) to help on her cuz she never even gets close to getting around her defender.

The problem is you either sacrifice and move Williams to PG (which who knows if that would work either although it can't be worse than what we are doing) or you'd have to have Van Lith ride the pine and let Velez do whatever she can do. I'm not sure if she is ready for that.

I agree with this, she is NOT a PG.

This is also true, but the worst part is that she CANNOT DEFEND the other teams PG. Majority of the times down court she gets beat off the dribble which causes a breakdown on Defense.

So as of right now, she is a liability on BOTH ends.

I think Van Lith is an awesome player, but she does need to be a 2 to utilize her scoring ability

Just like Kim is allowing the team to fail at the end of a game to prove a point.

I'm not a women's bball fan but I do occasionally watch as I am an LSU fan and a basketball fan. Once HVL came out the game Auburn stopped pressing. Or LSU was better able to beat the press. She is not quick enough to run point and cannot beat anyone off the dribble. So without a PG this team, much like the men's team prior to Cook, will struggle unless they change their approach to the offense. I agree with others. Let someone else drive and shoot and let Reese and Morrow get the rebound and score or get fouled. If you are going to have Reese drive then you shouldn't have an LSU Player on the post with an extra defender.

LMAO. I stated this on this site last month. I stated she is not quick enough in the first place, it limits her from moving around on the offensive side of the ball and she has put on a little too much weight in the off season Go look at how trim and lean she is at Louisville. Then look at her weight at LSU. She also had Plantar fascitis recently.

All these snowflakes on the board got sooooo upset with me.

I love the girl. She just needs to be playing a small forward position or at least the Off-guard position.

What made her so successful at Louisville? What type of offense did they run? One would think with our presence downlow, she should be open for pop out shots once the defense crashes.

These are genuine questions. I just assumed she would be more effective with her outside shooting.

Mulkey should let Van Lith come off the bench and start Flaujae at the point, and put Kent in the starting lineup to play the 3. I promise you this is our best chance at getting ready for teams that try to press. Ole Miss showed the world the blueprint on how to come at Van Lith and it works 100%

What have you seen from Kent that makes you think she is ready to start ?
She hardly gets off the bench.

Mulkey isn’t letting Van Lith dictate where she plays. She is trying to mold her into a PG because the ceiling for this team is higher if she succeeds. There is still time for her either to grow into the role or to pivot to another configuration. The goal is to win games in March, not January.

LSU should go back to the previous coach and then folks would not be forced to watch HVL and this horrible 16 and 2 team.

That's the best thing about Basketball, the course of a season is the perfect time to experiment with things before postseason.

Del Rosario / Reese / Morrow / FJ / Williams?

With HVL off the bench we would only need ADR to board, protect the rim, and move through the post without gumming up the offense.

I actually thought she gave some solid minutes yesterday and fit okay when playing with starters (not the bench). That said running with basically a 6 man rotation going all out until March, is likely not sustainable. The starting five need help. By the 4th quarter the team was gassed and slow to get to any loose ball.

She plays the point like Steve Kerr or Hodges played it on the old Chicago Bulls teams. You don't use her to break down the defense through penetration. You have other players who can do that.

As far as defense goes, you give up a little (few pg's are lock down defenders) but you have more than enough with the full team anyway. The team needs to learn to work better with HVL and not expect her to be good at things she is not and hang her out to dry.
