I don’t think it’s Kiffin. He’ll demand as big a contract as BK and he probably isn’t leaving OM in the midst of a playoff run, if at all. We aren’t going to wait until Jan I don’t think.

What the frick for?

Have you watched South Carolina at all? That team is one of the worst coached in America.

If his last name wasn’t Beamer, he’d be a special teams coach at a CUSA school.

Add Matt Campbell, delete Key. That's my choice

Campbell, Kiffin, Sumrall, in that order.

NO to Sumrall. The risk of being the next Napier is too high. He can't poach from the G5. He needs to come from a mid tier P5 school. The other 2 coaches fit that profile.

I don't see Kiffin or Lanning making the jump. Key would be a good pick.

How old is Schumann? <40, I think? My first call would be Lanning, but after he declines I would talk to Schumann with the heads up that I want to know all about his thoughts on potential OC hires and what a Schumann offense would look like.

Saban has the be the first call no matter what.

From there go:

1: Kiffin
2: Lanning
3: Day

Make all 4 tell you no, and if they do then you start going to Key, Sumrall, Golesh, Dillingham

Lanning would be amazing. My biggest gripe with that is it's another lateral hire. He's making $11 million a year now. I just see how we pay 2 mega buyouts.

Lanning(who would not be my choice, but he still needs to be on the list) Beamer (my personal favorite, although I don't know if he gets a real shot) Lea, Lebby (same as Beamer)

Wtf glad this dude is nowhere near the coaching search. jeezum he’d have us hiring Beamer or Lebby over Dan Lanning

I could see Kiffin jerking us around only to leave us high and dry at the last minute.

Kiffin is going to use the LSU and Florida jobs to leverage Ole Miss...who desperately won't want to lose him. At the end, he will be the highest paid HC in college football. It's just a matter of by who?

It will be fun to watch the fanbase twist themselves into illogical knots about where LSU should go. On the one hand, they will want a "big" hire because LSU is the "best" job available. But they will want that big hire to accept a contract that is absurdly favorable to LSU. The top guys can sit back and tell LSU how high to jump. They aren't taking anything less than a massive contract.

That then would move the search to an "up and comer". But will the fans, and more importantly, the disorganized group leading this show be willing to accept such a guy?

Would you morons stop with this bullshite. There is NOT a money issue or we wouldn’t have just fired a loser with a 53 million dollar buyout.

I like it but this is like saying we are going to get Kirby from UGA.

Key is working at his Alma mater

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but Tulane seemed to take a slight step back when Fritz left for Houston and now he has them playing really good football. I think Fritz might be the better coach. He’s much older though and not someone we’d want. I also worry about getting a coach from a program like Tulane. Napier did a phenomenal job at ULL and we saw how that turned out. Coaching at the sec is another level from those programs. Kelly couldn’t even handle the SEC coming from ND.
