Curt Cignetti, Indiana's head coach, seems to be a hot name at the moment for a bump to a better school.
He'd be a lot hotter name if he wasn't already 64 years old. I personally don't think he's going anywhere. He's already being paid 8 million/year and is in year 2 of a 6 year contract. Indiana is also the school that gave him a chance. What's really the point in leaving for a few million more when you're already rich and not far off from retirement. He's from PA but he played football at WVU

Why pay $50m to hire a guy with the same resume?
There is only one Woody. Fired a guy who had won a Natty and replaced him with a stooge who never will.
Fans think he is great?

Penn St isn’t paying for the both buyouts for BK. Sorry.
His buyout is not big if he leaves for another job, only if he's fired. That's the case for most head coaches. Per his contract, if he leaves for another job the buyout is 2 million (LINK

I remember when everyone wanted Aranda to be named HC in waiting. Im not saying Baker wouldn't make a good HC but damn yall are quick to name new coaches...with no HC experience

Kelly isn’t leaving better chance of him retiring in the next two years.

“Why the hell is a first time head coach, the head coach at LSU?!”
Bingo! Just like everyone wanted Dave Aranda to be head coach. Could you imagine the cluster frick we'd have been in if we had promoted him?
LSU is a destination for current head coaches, not assistants or coordinators.

I assume you were opposed to the Orgeron firing then?

be careful what you wish for, but I was kind of thinking he would be a better fit up in Penn State
His path to winning a natty is far easier at Pen State. For [1] He will have more NIL money and alumni support enabling himbto recruit better. [2] He knows the Midwest having coached there for almost all his career [3] In the Big 10 only Michigan,Oregon,USC and Ohio State are above him and since the Big 10 is guaranteed to have 4 slots, he has to beat 1 of those teams and hold serve and he is in. If the playoff expands to 16 he is in every year by default.
At LSU, he will forever be outgunned in talent du to the buying power of Texas, and TAMU. He will have to compete with Alabama, Tennesse, Georgia, Oklahoma, Auburn, Florida (once they get their act together). Then they have always got the Ole Miss, Arkansas, Missouri to be spoilers.
Bottoming in the SEC he has to compete with 9 good teams every year for 3-4 playoff spots.
For us Kelly leaving for Penn State would signify we are no longer the destination job we used to be. Also Kelly came in as the second winningest active coach in college football after Nick. If he could not make it here, who would dare to come.
Bottom line, we need Kelly more than he needs us.

Matt Rhule to Penn State makes too much sense for it to be anyone else.

BK is not leaving LSU for PSU and PSU is not looking at BK for the job. If LSU job ever opened, it would not hire a first time HC.
I do not know how some people think this way or how you function in the real world.

Baker has a personality. Aranda is autistic.
Not saying Baker would be a great HC but you could certainly make the case he could be a Lanning type. Young, energetic, players love him.

It doesn't matter who LSU hires there will be somebody on the rant ready to fire him after the first 3 and out.

he had an easier path at Notre Dame, had money backing him, was in the midwest, had an easier schedule than a Big 10 schedule...and he left all that for the LSU job.

One could only wish he parts ways. His contract alone was ridiculous. 10 years?

Kelly is NOT going to Penn st

Couldn't care less bout PS and who there coach is

Replace the winningest coach in all of college football with a coordinator with no experience and has had 1 good defense in 2 years at LSU. Pure genius.
