The bigger thing from his tenure is Lane doesn't have to worry about Woody saying no to NIL funds. Furthermore, Lane will call and see any recruit. Kelly was not a big fan of closing recruits who might decommit. Ego thing. Could care less about him wanting to play a round of golf or whatever.

“Well, if you ask LSU, I was playing 350 rounds of golf all through the year and drinking in my office,” Kelly claimed. “The thing they didn’t know is I have a torn rotator cuff that I suffered in the Florida game on the sideline. I got hit by an offensive and defensive lineman, and it tore my rotator cuff. So, I haven’t played much golf; I’ve been rehabbing, mostly.”

Must have been on pain meds the rest of the season. Because nobody of sound mind would keep throwing an injured Nuss out there who struggled to complete passes farther than 10 yards downfield.

LSU would have still gone 2-1 over that stretch and Nuss would have had 5 weeks to rest/heal heading into Vandy. Scary part is that Kelly would probably still be coaching.

eta: He didn't dispute the drinking.

that’s actually a pretty funny quote from Kelly about golfing and throwing in 350 there. Well played.

Kiffin might be a weirdo on social media, but he seems to be transparent through it all.

Sounds like he wants to go the Coach O route and live off that buyout money for awhile

I mean, wouldn't you? I'm glad we're on the Lane Train but this is what literally everybody would do.

"I tore my rotator cuff, so I didn't get to play as much golf as I wanted. I rehabbed by drinking in my office and yelling at interns."

I don’t understand how a torn rotator cuff impedes a HC at all.

I've torn both rotator cuffs and have had multiple surgeries, the first one the doc said said "you're going to need surgery. eventually," I asked when, he said when you're tired of the pain, i was yanking and banking in jets for several more years before I caved in and had it repaired, and playing lots of golf, he's full of shite and excuses, but we already knew that

BK, look at the performance of your seniors at the Combine, then explain to us why they never performed to their talent level.

I wonder if the torn rotator cuff impaired his ability to drink.

So he didn’t deny drinking all day in his office. We all know he didn’t spend much time at the facility.

frick him, if he doesn’t try to get a job we absolutely need to not pay him

To be fair I never said he was drinking in his office. Just he never looked happy here except when that TV show went to his home and he was drinking wine.

Yeah no way any GM or head coach is letting him in their facilities.

He had six months to come up with what rotator cuff excuse lol.

So you CAN play golf. So the whole rotator cuff story was just for sympathy, it has no effect on golfing. So your making up a number. And claiming it was made up?

You fcuking retarded clown.

Glad he's history as well. I was done after the Ole Miss game.

Hey Brian, it doesn't excuse all of your shitty assistant coaching hires. The entire defensive staff under House was horse crap and that's an insult to horse crap.
The offensive staff after Denbrock was also buffalo dung. Sloan, Wilson, Davis, Hankton were inept.
That all falls on you Brian. You're lazy, arrogant and a fraud. Your rotator cuff had nothing to do with your failures in every other aspect of being the head coach at LSU.
