Whits stat line reminds me of the one game where Kevin Minter went absolutely crazy. I think it was Florida.

Yep it was Florida. We lost that game. Floors scored 2 TDs. Both of them were when Minter was on the sideline for a breather.

Thing the score was like 14-10 or something like that.

I looked at the SEC games, and yes, it was very slim pickings

Holy shite, so-called LSU fans scouring SEC box scores, hoping to prove their own QB didnt deserve a recognition

No, Nuss did not play well, even though his end of the game performance was elite

And that’s what’s most important and amazing about his performance. That’s what great players do.

Whit Weeks delivered a standout performance in LSU’s 29-26 overtime win over No. 8 Ole Miss, recording a career-high 18 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, a sack, and a crucial forced fumble. His relentless effort anchored an LSU defense that held an Ole Miss offense averaging 44.0 points per game to just three field goals in the second half and overtime. Weeks’ forced fumble with under a minute remaining in the second quarter set up a key LSU field goal, narrowing the gap to 17-13 at halftime. In a pivotal moment, he sacked Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart for a 6-yard loss on the final play of regulation, forcing overtime and sealing LSU’s defensive resurgence.

18 tackles and BK doesn't even give him a Game Ball.

When's West gonna get off the injury list and join him on the field.

While his nuts are giant and I do not want anyone else in the country over him, does he really get SEC Off POTW this week? Did he do much better than I thought or did almost everyone else not do well?

Sometimes people fixate on stats, and ignore the actual performance.

Nussmeier's performance was a throwback, pre-1980's moment of brilliance. Before Bill Walsh made the West Coast Offense big (and the emphasis on high completion percentages with relatively short yards per completion), you'd see guys have games like this, as the stuff of legend. You didn't care about percentage, you looked at what he did when it was do or die.

all the while being kept VERY clean by his offensive line.

He had to do a lot of movement in and out of the pocket. Chester was pushed back every damn play. You can't step up as a QB without a decent center.

Nuss was constantly having to step into a line that was collapsed in the interior.

This is simply false. Our entire line did a great job protecting Nuss. You can focus on a small handful of plays to spin a different narrative, but the truth is that Nuss dropped back 52 times and was never sacked. And while Nuss has improving mobility, he is not great at evading a pass rush. Nuss had to drift around in the pocket? Welcome to 21st century football.

And this is not an anomaly; our line’s pass protection statistics for the first six games are sparkling.

I don't care about the praise, I'm thrilled that the defense is improving so much.

RobbRobb, i know you from back in the day, so this response is typical of you.

We watched the game. Nuss played awful for the vast majority of the game, and came in clutch at the end. You can watch anybody talk about this and you'll get the same observations.

It took no time to look at the few SEC games that were playing and see what offensive players did.

Nuss won because he was the best of a bad/mediocre bunch. You're getting mad because im speaking reality? Im not like all the people that were talking about benching.
