Marshall Chase Boutte Gilbert.
Who do you single cover?
Add Trey Palmer to the group and go 5 wide...that’ll make the opposing DC’s head spin!

It's January. Outdoor season doesn't start until early March.

He’s been pretty underrated imo...gonna be a great Tiger

Great, when it’s third and 200 we’ll give it to Boutte. Y’all realize a football field is only 100 yards long? A guy can be a competitive 200 meter runner and not have elite 40 times. I’m not saying it’s the case with Boutte, but it could be.
The point is that his 200 time does not mean diddly. If his 40 is good but not great, and considering he does not have great height or catch radius, then he does not project as a 5 star. One of the few guys like that who WAS rated as a 5 star was Jarvis Landry, but that was unusual and a result of him manhandling every DB he faced on the camp circuits. Boutte looked great at the All Star practices, so I’ll take him, with or without a fifth star.
Anyway, the 5 star rating is an NFL draft projection. Neither Chase nor Jefferson had it, and they turned out to be elite college receivers.

It'd be stupid if we get to pair him with Alex Adam's speed, baws.

Trey Palmer runs an 21.11 200m
But also a 10.42 100m to Boutte’s 10.97
Boutte has ran as fast as 20.87 in the 200m
Bout to blow the top off this shite

You do realize that in order to run a low 21 200m, a runner has to have good top end speed and acceleration??? If you think that it’s possible to run that fast and not be fast in the first 5, 10, 20, or 40 yards, then you really don’t know much about runnin
You are simply wrong about this. Sure a good 200 runner has to have good top end speed, but he DOES NOT have to have good acceleration - at least not “good” compared to top end sprinters. The 200 is the longest real sprint, and it allows time for top end speed to overcome great starts.
Usually the guys who are great 200 sprinters but are not great 40 guys are the ones who are lanky. That is not Boutte. He looks like he would be a good starter with that compact build. But you never know.

One offseason in BR & he will be one of the 3 fastest players on the team, whether it’s 10yds or 100. No reason to split hairs

My first thought as well.

I've never understood why the NFL doesn't do the timed drills in football gear. Some guys are MUCH faster in track gear than football gear.

Yea it does. It’s directly correlated to his 40 time. No one on this board can name a player who has great 200 times and bad 40 times. Boutte has already shown among his peers in Louisiana and the all star game that he is elite.

Palmer vs Boutte is gonna be a position battle to watch

There is a big difference between 200m speed and accelerating past a bunch of fools in the first 5-10 yards, which is much more important in elite football.
I have no idea if Boutte has the elite football speed or not but let’s not pretend he’s ever going to run a 200 yard sprint on a football field.
Uh are you serious?
The #2 time in the country, I am sure his first 100 was blazing, as was his first 50 (or 40 yard dash), as well his first 10-15 yards....Duh
Did he not win the top WR at all the recent camps... Oh but maybe he was running like he would run a 200 meter dash
The dude is fast, ultra fast
