Yeah, definitely didn't live up to the billing, but I think that broken ankle/leg (can't remember which) during his freshman year may have derailed things.

It could have, but he was just a very big kid playing in 2A. That doesn’t always translate at the next level. He never seemed to lose the baby fat and his body composition seemed to be the same or worse from when he arrived on campus to now. Recruiting isn’t an exact science.

Yeah O was the HC that landed Burrow but he wasn’t the main reason Joe came to LSU.

I also remember O recruiting Jefferson, Chase, and the rest of the skills guys on the 2019 team.
Every coach in America misses on prospects. Even Saban had plenty of bust.

He was 6’4 350lbs and running very fast. They showed him anchoring relay. He could move and was big. It should have translated.

Kardell was a 5 star with offers from everyone including Alabama, UGA, FSU, Florida, A&M, Miami, Oklahoma, and Texas. OL is prob one of the tougher positions to evaluate out of high school. He busted. It happens
