Kade
2024: 3.99 ERA .262 BA against, 1.51 WHIP, 13.85 K/9 against the #13 SOS
2025: 2.65 ERA, .205 BA against, 0.97 WHIP, 14.82 K/9 against the #190 SOS

Paul
2022: 2.73 ERA, .224 BA against, 1.17 WHIP, 10.08 K/9 against the #102 SOS
2023: 1.69 ERA, .165 BA against, 0.75 WHIP, 15.33 K/9 against the #3 SOS

Paul made a similar jump through an entire SEC schedule and postseason. If Kade is there in June, we are fighting for #8.

So his jump is not as remarkable as you are trying to make it out to be.

Kade Anderson's jump from 59K/20BB in 38.1IP to 56K/8BB in 34IP is objectively remarkable.

As for "development" Kade was FB-CB only last year and added SL-CH in the offseason, and now throws that CB less than 5% of the time.

Why didn’t you refute what I posted? At the end of last season or post season he pitched
3 or 4 innings
9Ks 3BB ZERO EARNED RUNS.
His “jump” was starting last season

So? he was a pitcher in 23. and a way better one than the prior year.

his last outing last season that wasn't in spot short relief was against Northwestern St in May. His line that game was:

3.1 IP, 6 H, 3 BB, 3 R, and 4 K

The outing prior to that against Auburn he went:

0.2 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 1 K

After that Northwestern St outing, he pitched a combined 4 innings over 5 appearances the rest of the season. He faced 20 batters. he walked 3, hit 3, and allowed 3 hits. So 9 of 20 batters reached base safely. I'm not saying those outings were especially bad, but you have such a small sample size and are only looking at one metric to say his massive improvement happened last year

So. He threw a ton of strikes which is exactly what I stated. That was his issue. He left the ball far at times which ballooned his era. He was learning to throw to corners and command that back door breaking pitch, which he absolutely did at the end of the season when it mattered.
The only difference in him now is that extra pitch, which isn’t something “incredible” for a second year player. Otherwise, burn down that fricking building the eat and workout in because it is useless. In fact you don’t need that to improve as a pitcher as that has been done for 150 years now.

I wouldn't say walking three and hitting 3 over 20 batters in 4 IP is exactly filling up the strike zone

Off the top of my head, some pitchers who improved noticeably from one season to the next:

Louis Coleman
Aaron Nola
Todd Peterson
Landon Marceaux (had '20 in between)

There is a part of me that is starting to dislike Yeskie, and I wonder why Jay likes him.

But as far as developing pitchers it is so hard to tell.

I think it's basically impossible for a fan to properly evaluate a coach, especially an assistant.

I remember many here calling for Wes Johnson's head in 2023, only to be completely shocked that Georgia would want him as their head coach.

Just have to trust CJJ to do the best for the program.

Anderson was hurt his senior year of high school but was rated as the best in his class I believe. The talent was always there, he was just getting back in baseball shape last season. Sky is limit for him.
