I've read this entire thread, and I have no idea why people are arguing. I would imagine if Slinger and Brady read this thread they would roll their eyes and move on. What a weird argument to try to start and even weirder that it succeeded. LOL

He said E is an old school pro style OC who learned the spread from Brady. It’s not the same thing as coming up knowing it your whole life.

Ensminger never claimed the 2019 offense to be his own. I don't understand people who want to shite all over him. Hell he didn't want to be the OC to begin with. And the problem in 2020 was NOT the offense.

You’re comparing a guy who was hired with 11 years coaching experience (mostly at the NFL level) and another 4 years as an NFL scout to a guy who was 2 years removed from being a GA when we hired him. It’s not even close to the same thing.

Coach E is a great tiger, but Brady very obviously was responsible for the dynamic offense we saw in 2019.

if it was SE's offense, why didn't we run it this year. I never could understand why anyone would abandon the best offense in LSU history. The reason is because it was all Joe Brady.

What offense did we run this year? If you don't think having 2 true freshmen starting 2/3 of the season have an impact on production and play calling compared to a Heisman trophy winner I don't know to tell you.

Well then there's guys like me who knows a little more. Almost no one realized that Joe was amazing in 2018. Only people who knew football saw that he was surrounded by failed positions. Line was garbage, rbs were average, receievers both didn't get open AND dropped an absurd amount of passes.
Joe Brady is credited w the 10000 catches of summer and surely fixed the passing game. We stopped drops altogether. Receivers also got open.
But when the issue is no run threat, no receiver ability, 0 blocking and time in pocket, it doesn't matter what play you call. We needed position coaches to do their jobs before we worried about the coordinator calling the right plays as i thought at the time. This is the only reason people like me weren't gonna immediately buy into this primarily being Joe's call. After all, it was a pretty unique situation.

as evidence starts to pile up (not that it already wasn't painfully obvious) the slinger crew is back tracking.
Most thought Brady purely brought some RPO concepts in to add to what Steve was already doing, Brady was just tweaking. Now we're down to "ok it was Brady's offense and playbook....but Steve totally called the plays"
