Skimmed the front page, didn’t see anything. Maybe you should get the sand out of yours.

Not necessary. There is already a pending lawsuit in this case at the 19th JDC. Nothing here ends that. That case continues. They may not play, but they'll get their money.

I for one love all the lawyering and court battles.
The NCAA and SEC have been playing favorites and this is needed to blow up the system.

These players should teach SEC a lesson that they can not apply rules arbitrarily.

Ross is a grifter.

How they can just go to play in conferences that allow ex pro! PAC 10 conference USA d2 etc. the judge said they are eligible to play. They can’t make a school sign them.

Apologies your name just looks like vagina. Should have thought better of that.

And in this never ending pissing match of egos, pettiness, authority, and low impulse control, no one is talking about or considering the players.

I would think their lawsuit is against the SEC. LSU was interested in adding them, but was threatened into not adding. Sankey has made an absolute mess for the league.

I still think the state judge will have a contempt filing against the sec tomorrow for the threats against lsu and defying the court order. Any the players likely file suit against the league for the same.

As they should. The NCAA committed a gross injustice by not issuing a blanket waiver for the 2022 signees.
I hope the players sue the SEC and the NCAA. And yes, LSU will be sued too.

quote:Yeah, the players are going to sue for damages and lost income (NIL). LSU initially signed them and they enrolled, which means they agreed to the NIL package LSU offered.

We all understand NIL is not tied to performance on the field, so they will get that.
The damages part will be that they were not allowed to showcase their talent and play, which they will state harms their chance of improving, and thus making an NFL roster next year.
Sadly, I think LSU will be the ones paying that out. The NCAA relented after the initial hearing. The SEC will say we're the ones who signed them without first checking with the conference on whether they'd be allowed to play in the SEC.

Legal options against who—LSU, or the NCAA/SEC? LSU’s attorneys should be smart enough to recognize that LSU did everything possible to take those kids on, despite all the legal threats being made against the university. I hope LSU sues the hell out of the NCAA and SEC.

Players throughout the NCAA should file a class action lawsuit against the NCAA and every conference. The players have won before in a way that has completely changed college athletics. And now the question of what constitutes a professional is an added wrinkle as the NCAA and conferences have allowed athletes from professional European leagues to compete as amateurs in college in the US. Comprehensively, the league and conferences appear to be on shaky ground. There’s change a ‘coming once again and hopefully the inept NCAA and SEC collusion will be put on full display.
