This wasn’t spoken about a lot. He looked really solid even with the half arse job he got from his O-line!
With room for improvement as he matures his future looks bright!

QB play relies on if they are feeling confident or not. Getting sacked and having your WRs drop a shite ton of passes really brings that down.

And running on 3rd and long. The amount of times we ran on 3rd and long definitely convinced Johnson that our shitty OC didn't believe in him.

No. You’re not allowed to acknowledge Max is a decent quarterback who makes some good plays despite the offensive scheme that’s set up for failure.

Eta: spell check

He has thrown many great passes. He is young and just needs to be more consistent. And some help from the oc would be nice.

He won the game for us despite getting hammered all night.
Oline woes were extraordinary all season

You give him some quality mentoring by a QB coach who knows what he's doing and a system he can believe in, not to mention a healthy group of receivers who aren't a revolving door, so he can actually build chemistry with rhem, and Max Johnson will do very well.

He's been through hell this year and he still managed to put that team on his back and win that game last night.

Don't write him off.

The first and last TD passes to Jaray were full Burrow-esque.

He can pass pretty well when he steps into his throws. Most of his worst plays came off of his back foot.

Agreed. Hopefully he gets some good work in this offseason to fix that tendency. Always seeing Defensive players in the backfield probably didn’t help.

Reminds me of Etling in 2017 - misses open passes that would’ve beaten Bama and then comes back and torches Aggie

No, no, No! The rant has declared him the worse QB in LSU history. Get your facts straight,

I certainly remember thinking he threw some dimes in perfect spots that the receivers couldn’t come up with. If he had no pass rush he could be deadly.

Unfortunately he also plays like he has no pass rush so that deadly turns out to be a double headed sword.

He can get better but never will holding it. He finally anticipated a rush and put the ball where someone was going to be open instead of waiting for them to be open.

Running on third and long is what saved the game for LSU. Had we tried to pass, with those guys teeing off on that oline, we would have given up turnovers. It's remarkable that Max did not turn it over with the pressure he was under.

Idk why we didn't put a TE or even another OL on the left side to help Dellinger. He was getting fricking abused all game long. I feel like a good OC makes that type of adjustment to help out our struggling LT.

I don't believe in him even a little bit. Dude is completely oblivious to pressure. He owned many of those sacks.

Long developing plays are part of Max's issue.

Hopefully the new offense will give him more options.

I noticed that he wasn’t floating his passes like he has from time to time all year. He was putting some zip on the ball. While he still held the ball too long, his play was better.

Just imagine how good he’d be if he threw with the right arm?
