The 2019 LSU team, and GA, Al years ago would destroy these teams.
Should be an asterisk until they get the right formula

You basically just copied the thread I made on the More Sports Board yesterday.

I said 2018 Clemson, 2019 LSU, 2020 Alabama, and 2021 Georgia would all destroy all 12 of the teams in this year’s CFP.

It’s the product of NIL and the transfer portal being in full swing. There’s mediocrity everywhere in college football because team’s can’t stack their rosters anymore.

The playoffs need an RPI for college football. They also need 16 teams and no byes.

Time for us to admit it needs to be 32 teams, or maybe 64. Hell let’s just make it 128.

That will be a strategy used going forward. It has worked for ND for certain. Many analysts knew it at the start of the season.

Go to ESPN FPI. The average SOS amongst playoff teams was pathetic. Teams with SOS in the 50’s.

It doesn’t equal a championship, but it equals a playoff berth which helps with recruiting and $$$.

The 12 team playoff was not good football. The 8 and 4 team was much better. Now imagine if they put 12 quality teams in, it would be much better.

If you look at the team’s who made the playoffs, it does appear you need more schedule fortune than anything.

I agree

It will never be fixed

It needs to be four or six teams at the most

Every year there’s only three teams that deserve to play in a championship game.

The more games you force them to play, sooner or later there will be an upset

8 teams are plenty enough if the right criteria are used.

SEC now only gives the cakewalk schedule to Texas.
