guessed that Alleva and the administration were strongly considering using him as a scapegoat to try and deal with this issue

I hate to break it to Ole Joe but his basketball program before Will Wade, has effectively been on probation for 10 years.

some very bad statement

Isn't "smart-offer" what was said?

It's kinda like "let's eat Grandma" as opposed to "let's eat, Grandma" (commas make a difference). When transcribing recordings, the transcriber has no idea how it was INTENDED therefore could be transcribed incorrectly from the intentions of the one who said it.

Hmm - sent F King a tweet telling him Alleva f-cked over Duke Lacrosse
Do not let him F-ck over Will Wade

Hmm - FBI could not find anything wrong with 140M kickback for giving the Russians our Uranium yet they want to harass Will Wade? And we wonder why this control is absolutely messed up to the core.

What should they have done? AD has a responsibility to look into this. The first step for anyone would be to talk to the coach.

He doesn't have an obligation to handle it right now though, which is my point.

We're either screwed or we aren't. There is no in between. Having Wade come in and explain this at this juncture does no good, one way or the other. The man is subpoenaed to testify in a trial in a month already.

A practical solution to anyone with a functioning brain is to say we're handling it and then deal with it after the season. That's a real world solution. This fantasy land where people are talking about some sort of false integrity in college sports is asinine.

Bingo. The university is only hurt more by doing this now. Should have let it play out and finished a great season. Hell, even one more day would’ve helped us win the Sec regular season. Now that’s in jeopardy for sure. Alleva’s just covering his own arse by throwing ww and the basketball season under the bus.

Horrible. Communicate through counsel. Protect the school and the coach and this team.

Knee jerk reaction by incompetent AD and President. Fire their asses now.

How Alleva is still on payroll is amazing? Should have never been hired.

Unless there is audio of him saying amounts of money is going to be payed to a player and a paper trail that backs it up, JA has fricked this up. Come out, make a statement backing WW up. Lawyer up and tell the NCAA to go frick themselves

Tend to agree, if you're confident in your position. I'd probably be talking with the mom first and looking to see if there's a smoking gun. If no trail then bunker in.

Are you under the impression that we should not be paying players? That is part of Will Wade's job. Now, being sloppy and getting recorded talking about it is not ok.. but why would Joe and F King care if the "behavior" is true? I would hope they are well aware of it being true already.. so I don't really understand what questions they would need to ask.

Umm... then their questions would be about other instances in which WW was "sloppy"

Why would his attorneys tell him not to speak to the ad?

He has four more years on his contract and doesn't want to violate because he will be owed money if LSU fires him.

I’d bet Wade would have met with Alleva and King if he had confidence in their leadership.

JA is well within his rights, and honestly needs to, get to the bottom of this. The fact that so many of you want JA to turn a blind eye is pretty damn disturbing.

I'm pretty sure the FBI and federal investigation is higher in the pecking order than Joe Alleva. Not to mention the fact that Wade is not the defendant but is a witness. But go ahead Wade, incriminate yourself to keep Joe Alleva happy.

What if Wade was a spy for the FBI and was helping get evidence?

Anything is possible.

I stand with CWW until it's proven he's as crooked as Lombard Street.

Not only that, why disclose anything else to an athletic department that notoriously leaks like a sieve?
