Attendance, revenue, and fan interest in MBB is severely plummeting under Matt McMahon. The damage is only going to get worse. Please cut your losses and make a coaching change after this season to save this sinking ship.
For reference and comparison, here are PMAC average "paid" attendance numbers per game (source LSUsports.net):
- MBB 2023-2024 (YTD), Matt McMahon: 7,502
- WBB 2023-2024 (YTD), Kim Mulkey: 10,583
- MBB 2022-2023, Matt McMahon: 9,318
- WBB 2022-2023, Kim Mulkey: 8,733
- MBB 2021-2022, Will Wade: 10,504

There has to be a math equation regarding revenue lost from low attendance to what it would save by paying his ridiculous buyout. Plus, as OP said, it’s only going to get worse the longer you keep him.

First of all it’s not happening And who would you suggest we hire after we pay out his 8 year contract? Nobody is taking the job under the circumstances let’s allow McMahon to fight through what he started

Wade never quit on LSU, our administration fired him. It’s possible to root for Coach Wade and our current MBB team. After all, LSU most certainly will not be playing McNeese in any post season tournaments.

Is LSU the only basketball program on planet Earth who's attendance is decreasing? Will Wade was a shady coach that couldn't be trusted. Some of you people think he walks on water. MM aint going anywhere and you'll learn to like it.

I feel like those numbers are a little deceiving considering we haven’t played any notable teams at home yet. I imagine it will go up a little. Obviously not as much as it would if we had a decent team.

If you're going to cheat, don't be a dumb arse and get caught. Wade couldn't even do that right. Lsu will never be a top tier program because of the lack of interest. It will always be a football first athletic program. Plus the state doesn't produce alot of top HS talent, unlike football.

Attendance at LSUMBB games in 23-24 will not go up as the season progresses. In 22-23, ACTUAL attendance DECREASED as the SEC season progressed. I know because I was actually at all our home games last season.
We sell the season tickets as we always have though even that is declining. That accounts for attendance numbers in the 7000's. BUT, we have 3K or less at our games now which is less than at any time in my 45+ years of having MBB season tickets.

I went to every home game last year and all but K State this year. I promise those numbers are way too high.
Either the administration is flat out lying or they're including all season ticket holders even if they don't show up.
