I would have really loved to see what this kid could have done at QB for LSU.

He should be the QB after looking at his HS films. CBK fd that up deliberately. This guy is super talented. He will leave for sure.

He's one play from being a starter.

watch Van Buren, then pretend how he would look if decided to play lefthanded. That is what what JuJuan Johnson would be

When Lafayette Christian beat Newman in the playoffs, Ju’Juan ended the Arch Manning hype for me right then. JJ was ballin’ out

I wish they would have given him some reps yesterday to see what he can do. Game never got to that point. They won’t play him at QB against OK unless MVB goes down.

That kid is very talented. I know he can run and throw short and intermediate routes. I want to see him throw a good deep ball consistently. I watched him twice in HS and that’s what I saw in him.

I think LSU brings in a transfer QB and Johnson continues in the role he’s in now.

it would be nice to see him more this week and bowl game. We know what we have in MVB.

Can JJ be better? possibly. maybe Frank already knows though

I never watched him in HS, but the highlights they showed he’s throwing to wide open receivers. I know he threw 5 picks against Ruston his senior year. That was a 5A school that went on to win State that year, but still worth noting. I think he can probably step down to a mid major and play QB, but is going to have to play a skill position if he wants a shot at the NFL.

Johnson 49 Manning 7

I wonder what tools Johnson lacks to be a D-1 QB. To the untrained eye, he looks at least as suited for the position as Manning:

If he would have stayed in the QB room he certainly couldn’t have done any worse than MVB last night.

JJ is a player for sure.

If these coaches that are left had any skill at all they would have at least designed a play or two with him as a QB option last night against an inferior team.

No QB can excel with our offensive line. They underperform in pass blocking and zone run blocking. They are only adequate on counters or blocking the man in front of them. I really don't understand why they haven't progressed but this is the reality of where we are.

The first thing everyone goes to is coaching and this is rightfully so. Also we haven't tried any of the second tier guys yet to see if they could do better. I think our coaches are in love with player's sizes and potential. And don't focus enough on performance. At some point, the guys who can get it done should be on the field...not the guys who are the biggest and were recruited with the most stars by their name.

I don't understand why we haven't had him throw a pass when he is out in the flat and 10 guys are about to tackle him because nobody is blocking down field. It is numerically impossible for someone not to be open.

Nope. Not saying he wouldn't do OK, but he had a lot of flaws in HS that would show up in the SEC. I follow LCA and watched all of his games in HS. My son played football there, but before JuJuan. He would get impatient and sometimes try to carry the team when there was no need to. Then he would press and make mistakes that cost the team.

But I will say, if they decide to use him as a QB, he will put whatever effort they need into doing that. I am pulling for him to succeed at whatever position he plays.

He was recruited by Orgeron and multiple other programs as a DB, and he intended to play DB in college. CBK is the only reason he is in the backfield now. There is a crapto to blame CBJ+K for, but this ain't one of them.

He is a great athlete, without a doubt.
