Judge upholds eligibility for Missouri's Sterling Webb

A St. Louis County Judge on Wednesday denied the NCAA's motion to dismiss a temporary restraining order that gave Missouri defensive tackle Sterling Webb a fifth season of eligibility.
Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz learned the news while participating in an SEC coaches teleconference.
"Yeah, I just got a tweet that says a TRO making DT Sterling Webb eligible remains in place after a St. Louis County Judge this morning denied the NCAA's motion to dismiss," Drinkwitz said.
St. Louis County Judge Ellen Ribaudo also added the University of Missouri and its board of curators as defendants. The order temporarily prevents them, along with the NCAA, from declaring Webb ineligible for competition during the 2026-27 season because of the NCAA's new five-for-five rule, withholding him from practice or competition, declining to certify his eligibility or withholding or reducing his revenue-share or NIL compensation.
"So, it looks like we're ready to go," Drinkwitz said.

Will Mizzou get the LSU treatment for being the first school to add a pro player onto their roster?

Just a different situation because he didn't go work out / practice with an NFL team.
This is more like the Notre Dame guy we got.

I am curious why they (NCAA/courts/whoever) don't just go ahead and approve that group as no one seems to be pushing back on them and it would lower the case log for all involved? Not aiming the question at you, just asking into the void. Ready for this to be done and games to start.

Is that the guy that sued his own school to get his 5th year? I don't remember the name, but know it was at Mizzou so I'm guessing it was him. I guess I could read the article, but what's the fun in that?

Missouri was going to back down but he was suing the school to play him because there would be a court ruling that it was legal thus SEC can't punish. The whole thing is muddy but basically Missouri caved after the SECs stance and the player was like nah I'll sue you too lmfao.

I think that would be opening up a pretty big can of worms at this point. Imagine every time during the season a NFL player gets cut or sent down to a practice squad, he decides he wants to go back to college instead. Teams would be adding players every week for the entire year.
