I used to listen to him religiously as well but lost respect for him after the South Carolina game last year. He bitched and moaned for hours about how the refs screwed them.
In years prior when bama would get several calls that affected the results of games, he preached “refs don’t decide the outcome”. Or just wouldn’t address the obvious Birmingham bias BS at all.
It doesn’t take long listening to him to realize he’s a gump.

I think this team’s floor is 8-4. And that happens if we have no running game and Garrett is running for his life in all the big games.

lol, no.
You can have the ceiling as undefeated, but the floor is 5-7. @ Clemson, Florida, @ Ole Piss, SoCar, 8&4, @ Bama and @ Okie are all easily losable. @ Vandy and Arky aren’t guarantees either
It’s navigable if LSU is elite, but if they’re anything like the 24’ team, that schedule could jeopardize making a bowl

quote:Yes. 8-4 with no CFP and BK is gone. Even 9-3 with no CFP and he's gone.
Would be the end of Brian Kelly
He'll either retire or agree to a settlement to gtfo. (A la Shrimpy)
I hear Jon already has his LSU Staff picked out.

I watched a few of his videos. He seems knowledgeable. One of his shows his own computer models had LSU winning 9 games as a consensus. So it is weird he says 8-4. Most others have LSU either 10-2 or 9-3. It's one person view point. No one is expecting much out of LSU. That's fine. I think they go 10-2.

Ridiculous. LSU is a top 3 talented team in the SEC right now there's absolutely no way they're going 5-7. That's unrealistic and crazy to even think. The ONLY way that happens is mass injuries everywhere. If not and they go 5-7 the state of Louisiana will buy BK out because his seat wouldn't be red hot, it would be a coffin at that point with him being shipped out somewhere else. You're off your rocker if you think LSU's floor is 5-7.
This is BK's most talented team while at LSU and he's had some rough schedules while being here so why all of sudden he'd lose more than he ever has here with more? That makes no sense. Better start worrying about Texas and hoping Arch Manning is what media is trying to hype him up to be without actually ever proving anything other than name so far.

Would have lost 6 games last year if not for Sellers injury + a complete miracle vs Ole Miss and this years schedule is more difficult. Unlikely? Sure, but it’s not that inconceivable

You can do what ifs every year for every team. What a dumb argument. Should I start putting up the what ifs on Texas the past few seasons where they scraped by in games? That's the difference between a winning team and a loser. The winners find a way to win novel concept I know.

You have no idea what LSU is going to be this year and you’re already declaring them a team that just finds ways to win. They found a way to lose 1/3 of their games last year

Couldn't this same logic be applied to the media's darling in Texas? You don't know what QB you have which is the biggest position to have a question mark at.
We do know what LSU has and like all the other teams being projected here, they're looking at player growth and expected growth. It's not like the transfer portal guys LSU brought in are unknowns. Most of those guys have NFL grades.
If you want to say it will take awhile for all the talent to mesh together, that's a fair argument since it's roster turnover. Talent wise, LSU is arguably up there with Texas right now when you collectively look at the team's talent as a whole. It's not just the portal where LSU plucked talent they've been doing great in HS recruiting too.
Teams don't stay static, they grow and get better. By your same logic why is Clemson rated as high as they are considering how much they struggled last year with a weak schedule?

Josh Pate has Florida and TAMU with a better record? Bookmarked and will remind him in December about this.

As long as BK is on the sidelines 8-4 will remain the accepted standard at LSU
_________
Not accurate. His record is better than that for 2 of the 3 years he has been here.

With our schedule this season, that would be disastrous.

To be fair 8-4 is a realistic outcome.

Unacceptable* outcome. We hired Kelly to be a 10-2 or better coach
