3- Or perhaps the team sandbagged Booty because they hated him and loved Rohan.
I don't really buy this narrative because we won 4 games in a row after Booty regained the starting position midseason, including wins over a ranked Mississippi State and Alabama.
I think it had everything to do with Booty's performance in the Arkansas game (last game of the regular season) and the first half of the bowl game. In those two games combined, he went 14 for 41 (34%) with 0 TDs and 2 INTs. The team scored 6 points during those 6 quarters. That's terrible. Saban was simply looking for a spark and he got it from Rohan.

Booty came into Lsu after a few years in the MLB. In 97 he won a WS with the Marlins, I bet his ego was over the top.
Ok let’s not be over dramatic. The dude played 13 games over 3 years in the big leagues. You’re acting as if he was everyday guy.

Loved Rohan my arse.
I assume that you understood that my post was not flattering of Booty.
I think both Booty brothers were spoiled little brats. Both of them help cost LSU victories against Bama.

Yeah Josh. I remember the Arkansas game. He screwed around and the best coach in LSU history, Hal Hunters jerked him and put in Ro. The Tigers started kicking arse and whipped a bowl bound Arkansas squad that day.

This is what is known as delusion.

Easy fix for that: don’t be a douche toward your teammates.

if he had it to go over again would have told saban he wasn't coming out of the game

As if he had a say in the matter.

He was the equivalent of fournette as a recruit in HS.
It was easy to look good as a passer in Evangel’s system. The QB lined up in punt formation on every snap. Booty never saw a pass rush.
Fast forward five years. Five years without taking ANY kind of a snap. He gets to LSU and not only has to line up in the regular shotgun, but under center...against SEC athletes. He folded under the pressure like a cheap suit. Threw everything off his back foot and they could never coach it out of him.

Was at that game and Rohan’s spark won that game...and a lot of fumbles by whoever was returning punts for GT.

Booty wasn’t good. We like to pretend we had one of the GOATs if he hadn’t played baseball etc. if he was that great he still would have been damn good 4 years later like many have done since.
He was overhyped coming from one of the first pass happy spread systems in the country ahead of its time. Dude was a backup caliber SEC QB.
His point about players laying out for Rohan is true though. You could notice the difference when one QB was in vs. the other.

That’s a fact I played against him in high school my 1992 Coushatta State champions team went to Evangel for shrimage we put pressure on him and beat them 21-7 we played tight man coverage took away the quick plays he was a totally different guy with pressure on him

Booty shouldn't even be allowed to say Rohan's name.

Is this a joke? Booty wasn’t nearly the passer Rohan was. An that Peach bowl game was legendary.

Could be, but in my experience it is more realistically called "Buddy Ball". It's part of some cultures.

And it showed in effort, even the defense played inspired ball.

The catch in the back of the end zone by Reed was sick.

The booty part should be changed to arse because that’s what that clown was and is. An arse. They’re along the same lines as those (shea) Patterson folks. It’s all about them and nobody else.
That’s the same josh booty that decided to call his own play against UAB. Think about that one.

I will say that when Ro got hurt against MSU, Booth came in and got the job done.

The Berlin Hammer

Speaking of which, if you really want to know how much Ro's teammates loved him, look up Tom Brady's reaction when he was let go by the Patriots.
