Very, very interesting conversation. Seems like an ok guy but pretty bitter about a peach bowl game where he was replaced. Said he loved Rohan but believed he was a much better passer than rohan. Said at halftime of that game when rohan was told he would start a left tackle who was hurt then decided he would play. Said all the players were rohans buddy and certain receivers started making plays for him and if he had it to go over again would have told saban he wasn't coming out of the game. Said he relates to jalen hurts. Very upfront dude. He lives in Austin tx and he is helping his brother start up a high school Football program out there.

Only Booty can seriously think he would have told Saban that he was going to stay in the game.

Saban would have snapped his finger once and the bootys would have disintegrated from earth.

Booty came into Lsu after a few years in the MLB. In 97 he won a WS with the Marlins, I bet his ego was over the top.

I don’t know about Booty’s statements, other than I remember reading that Rohan was very popular with his teammates. There were many stories of him helping out his teammates off the field.

quote:

He took care of every person, every guy,” Clayton continues. “If a guy was hungry, he was the guy that went out and got a burger, fed everybody. He made sure everyone stayed on the right track.”

Typical Booty reaction! Not his fault, ego showing and in denial of the resulting success of the conspiracy to unseat him.

Brandon Winey. True he did come off bench at half. I was there, most inspired, willfull performance I've ever seen by a QB. I remember him coming out to start second half and my buddy turning to me and saying "that's their arse. This game is over". Loved Rohan!

It was Brandon Winey that was hurt and not dressed out. At halftime he suited up and replaced colossal bust Brad Smalling at LT who was getting eaten alive by the Ga Tech DE from East St John, Greg Gathers in the first half. Booty was getting killed that half.

Rohan is still my favorite lsu quarterback. He is a likeable guy that you would want to play hard for and that 2000 Tennessee game was the first game that started lsu's run of being a successful program after the crappy end of the 90s.

Skip to the 21:20 mark. If he was a better passer, somebody was wide arse open in the back of the endzone.

Booty was selfish on that play wanted to be the man and he freaked up the Georgia game that same year to over looking a open guy in the endzone.

Booty was a superb athlete. He was the equivalent of fournette as a recruit in HS. But he was also the best HS baseball recruit in the country and went the baseball route out of HS. Made it to the majors but never seemed to make things click in the majors. Got his ring and decided to try football out. He eventually made some teams in the NFL. Other than that he is a total POS as a person.

That was incredible. LSU won 35-21 and they should have legitimately should have scored 60 plus points.
