Louisiana recruiting isn't important because the talent sucks overall.

LSU needed a national recruiting guy

Right, but it's still better than letting the good guys in this state go to places like Texas.

Locking down Louisiana alone can make this a consistent tournament team.

I'm glad we got someone, wish it was someone a little more prominent, but at least everyone in the program backs this guy, which is more than what Trent Johnson could say.

Next step - get Hickey/ JOBIII to stay, flip Gathers, sign Coleman...go get us a surprise.

Losing Felix sucks, especially considering we have no other PG lined up now that even Wagner kid is signed too.

We have had a couple down years in La, but you know very little bout La HS talent if you think it "sucks".

Martin and Bridgewater are both pretty good players in next years class. It would be a good start to get them as in state talent

RIGHT NOW it is not what we used to have from 2003-2008 when we consistently had 4 and 5 star players out the arse every year in thst period.

Looks we will still be a two sport school!

Our national search comes up with Jones?

jones is in no way, shape or form a better hire than trent was when he was hired here. johnson took two teams deep in the tourney. jones has only made the tourney twice in 11 seasons.

Must secure both of them badly, we are so thin at the big man spot.

im happier with this than i would be tubby smith
tubby's tourney resume is very solid. he is WAY WAY better than jones. i would have been disappointed with tubs so i'm really disappointed with jones.

LSU HAS OFFICIALLY GIVEN UP ON BASKETBALL. i'm going to throw up now

He is a Louisiana guy, he will do well in terms of recruiting and that is the most important thing in College BBall
why do people think that la is a hotbed of bball talent?

Im throwing up over here too, but I dont think Tubby would be a better hire. Tubby's old, he's like Jerry Tarkanian was at Fresno State after he left UNLV.

His time has passed.

Johnny will do fine here, he will get Randy Livingston and will get the talent out of New Orleans for sure. Although he was the third choice from what I have heard. He was alway my number one guy. Anything is better than TJ. LSU still has egg on its face for firing Brady like they did. The BB people in this country thinks we are crazy down here. They are still discussions about how we fired JB 18 months from the final four, believe it or not. Outside of Baton Rouge that is the demon we have to overcome to get a bigtime guy. Although I think we made the perfect hire for this job. I think he will be here a long time.

So? If he's good enough for the big leagues shouldn't he be dominating the Sun Belt?
