tubby's tourney resume is very solid. he is WAY WAY better than jones. i would have been disappointed with tubs so i'm really disappointed with jones.

i would have a better tourey resume if i coached at kentucky.

And major programs still didn't bang down his door for him.

Why should we? Just because he's an LSU guy?

Tubby has twice Jones' tourney appearances from his time at Tulsa and UGA, in the half the years mind you. Comparing their resumes is pointless.

He made tulsa, uga, and minnesota relevant. He was FAR more proven than JJ.

FAR!

johnson took two teams deep in the tourney.

With Brady's players. There is no doubt that Trent had the better resume when he was hired. But JJ's main strength, I guess, is that he will supposedly lock-down LA. That is an upgrade compared to Trent's recruiting. Hopefully, we'll have more than 8 scholarship players on the team.

I'm as pissed as anyone but the guy loves LSU, maybe he brings some energy that the program needs...maybe he sucks...maybe we fire him in three years. We really can't do no worse at this point.

This is the point, but good luck trying to get people to comprehend this.

I gave up.

I will support him and the basketball team, but underwhelmed is an understatement. Just depressing. I hope Coach Johnny Jones (CJJ) can become a great coach for LSU. I also hope rantards stop using JJ In their posts.

Congrats CJJ

They are still discussions about how we fired JB 18 months from the final four, believe it or not. Outside of Baton Rouge that is the demon we have to overcome to get a bigtime guy.

no

and while it may have looked better waiting til the end of the season to can brady he was still done. the guy lost it after that final four run. i dont know what the hell you watched the following two seasons but he was done and saw the writing on the wall especially with the looming apr scenario.

at least we can agree on trent.

I am glad we didn't hire Tubby, he inherited the National Championship at Kentucky after that he was very average. He has not really set the world on fire at Minnesota either. LSU is a tough place to coach any sport. Hiring a guy like Johnny is a huge upgrade from what we had. He knows the LSU landscape and understands it. He will do fine. This is his dream job and he wants to be here, unlike the last guy who has tried to get another job for the last two years.

If Coach Joe Bleaux was not an LSU alum, and had Jones record as a middle of the pack coach in the Sun Belt, would he get a second look from us? Don't think so.

Going to Vriginia yesterday was terrible waste of fuel.
