Tagging Vitello is a douche thing to do. In general though almost everything from the OTOP people is pretty douchey desperate for attention. They are going to burn every “source” they think they have and is probably why they have been wrong on everything. Likely being used to sniff out the leaks.

It's dumb to post that in the middle of a search. Who even knows if it's true. They have been wrong many, many times.

OTOP is dying for a credible scoop, frick the consequences. Then again, it could be a rival coach trying to sabotage a hire.

JP and OTOP are really starting to piss me off. They are trying so hard to troll Moscona that they are putting literally anything out there to appear like breaking news “journalists.”

Hey guys…STFU YOU ARE GOING TO RUIN THIS FOR US!!!!

You dolts have no information and even if you do, then you’re still taking a leaf blower to any smoke woody is trying to put out.

Shut up and enjoy the show like the rest of us. Tagging TV in that post is the kind of Joe Alleva stuff that blew up the Jimbo deal.

It seems like the OTOP luster is starting to wear off rather quickly. They have floated every name under the sun as baseball coach and have swung and missed every time....proving they don't know shite about it.

Last week someone posted they should rename to One Team One Pedophile...not sure if there is any merit to that or not.

They try so hard to go after Moscona-but at this point it's just a dumb look.

Regarding JP, I always liked him and that Fore the People podcast is good, however, it's a bad look on his part for doing this.

OTOP couldn’t stop bragging and talking shite about being right regarding Paul’s retirement. Since then they’ve gotten nothing right and have owned none of it. They’re desperate and latching themself to every rumor in hopes it’s the right one to regain credibility

Correct, and it was the worst kept secret, so OTOP didn't break anything. Anyone who knew a player or recent former player knew Paul was retiring. They seek more attention than the Kardashians. Well, almost.

LSU brings in more in ticket sales on a week night game against Southeastern than TN did at their super regional games

No way that's true..did you see the 2thousand people that couldn't even get in the stadium because it was sold out? How many times have we sold out a midweek game?

I hope you were exaggerating, if not, then you're dumb

Tickets sold is different than actual attendance.

sold out or actually had fans at those games? We technically sell out most, if not all, of the midweek games

Only if they had about 6000 more seats to comfortably fit 2000 more people compared to the Box in postseason with 11 or 12 thousand

I just want to marvel at your post for a bit. You type out that nonsense and then call someone else dumb. I know children who have a better grasp of the way ticketing works than you do.

Definitely appealing.

Ceiling is extremely high. And worst case/floor with him is he just doesn't fit or win enough in postseason, but leaves the cupboard full with talent for next guy.

I'd be completely fine with it.

True, which is why there will never be official confirmation of such an offer if he doesn't come here.

Here's the thing, Tennessee is having an unprecedented season at a school craving for a winner in anything right now. Sure, they had a bunch of people at their super regional, something they hadn't made in over 15 years. But can they sustain that level of support over an entire season and then multiple seasons thereafter? Are they going to travel, in masse, to road series? Are they going to sell out of thousands of seasons tickets each year? LSU fans do all these things. It takes years to build that kind of consistent following. Regardless of what happens with Vitello, if I'm Tennessee, I'm very hesitatant to make that type of financial commitment into a program without seeing a matching level of support over more than just a few weeks of one season. That could very easily blow up in their faces 1) if Vitello leaves in a few years for a different job; 2) if he's a flash in the pan; or 3) UT fans forget baseball once the freshness wears off like they have in the past. It's way more than just paying him a big salary, it's the tens of millions they'll need to invest in facility upgrades. Programs like LSU only really have to worry about paying him a little more than they were already paying Paul. Any facility upgrades needed are vastly less costly than would be at Tennessee. Not to mention, LSU has a lot more people willing to donate to the baseball program and that donation base has been built over 40 years.
