Didn’t he from reports not want to suspend wade? And if he didn’t why take the narrative the bos wants you to take vs what your true opinion is? If it’s to protect his job I’m sure he will hear it with 100000 fans once football starts.

No he did not
He led with that as a possibility which is mind boggling.
What he should have said is something along the lines of "We have no knowledge of any wrongdoing on the part of Coach Wade or any of our players. At this time Coach Wade has been advised by counsel to not respond to questions from the athletic department and the board of supervisors due to his subpoena in a federal investigation. We will reevaluate this decision as more information is shared."
Bu Joe never says the right thing. Ever.

How did he prepare the Duke lacrosse team for the rest of their lives?
He taught them to not trust everyone who says they are there to support the student... he also taught them not all in life is fair. Finally, he taught them how to employ an attorney.

Get real Joe would throw anyone of our student athletes under the bus if it means saving his job.

It baffles me that people can't seem to ever admit when someone they don't like occasionally does something right (or at least not wrong) in a specific case.
It baffles me that there are people that think Alleva has handled this situation well.

I mean he already told us this when he hired Ed Orgeron. “It’s not about winning championships”.
Miles actually won championships, unlike your bayou boy.

I hate Alleva but what he said there is pretty much perfect
Agreed.
Not that I hate Alleva. Certainly don't love him.
But his actions (suspending Wade and withholding Smart from play) are quite plausible given what was on that wiretap transcript. The only reason I thought that the board and Alleva wouldn't suspend Wade is because the team was on such a hot streak and the fan reaction would be volcanic. Clearly, Alleva is going to do what he thinks is best regardless of what you bastards think. Good for him. That's called leadership. It's what he was hired to do. If the board disagrees, they can fire him.
Most of my grievance with Alleva is that he didn't make a stand in 2015 and tell everybody he was going to hire Jimbo and threaten to resign if they wouldn't let him do so. But that's another matter entirely. The longer this drags on though, the more likely it is we will see this evolve into the same political BS as that debacle was... with all the negative media attention and chaos.
Hopefully all involved say as little as possible until they have whatever evidence they need to make a decision.
Now back to your regularly scheduled rant...

That night, even though many fans unleashed their anger on Alleva over Wade’s suspension, he said his job was to “protect the institution and the integrity of the institution.”

This is what you get when you fish your AD outta Mike Nifong's @ssbutter, from throwing the Lacrosse kids under the bus for a lying whore..
An AD, that like with his boss F King, are married to their fat paychecks that clear every two weeks, their loyalties start and stop there primarily, then comes LSU's best interests in conjunction with where married to their self-survivals.
This guy has been a boring bland survivalist of the first degree his whole tenure. And neutered from above often(like when he had Jimbo lined up and was stood down). Like Hanagriff states..Joe is not a closer!

But winning is fighting back. Teach your kids not to be cucks. That's part of preparing the kid for life after college.
What a pussy.

I'm sure Joe Alleva cared about the integrity of the institution (as he says in the article) when he acted too quickly in the Duke lacrosse case.
I'm sure Joe Alleva cared about the integrity of LSU when he left Les Miles out to dry in November 2015.
I'm sure Joe Alleva cared about the integrity of the LSU when he let Johnny Jones quit on the 2016 basketball season.
It's so disheartening to have a tone-deaf imbecile as the leader during times where decisive leadership is necessary.
Joe Alleva can geaux to hell.
