Jayden Daniels will not drastically increase his draft stock with another CFB season.

Can Jayden improve with an extra year of CFB? Yes.
Will that improvement be enough to increase his draft stock? Not by much. He is currently a late day two or early day three pick.
Issue number one...who will be in front of JD in 2024?
1 Caleb Williams
2 Drake Maye
3 Michael Penix Jr.
4 Quinn Ewers
5 Bo Nix
6 Jalen Milroe
7 Kyle McCord
8 Jordan Travis
9 KJ Jefferson
The highest I could see JD is number 6 behind Bo Nix. He could potentially firm up being a day 2 pick in 2024.
Issue number 2.
JD needs to improve on decision making and decisiveness. Decision making and decisiveness takes practice reps with your receivers, a lot of practice reps. There is just not enough time in the college game for JD to improve that much. In the NFL he can totally focus on his game with teammates on a full time basis. That's when he can really make strides in this game.
If the NFL is the ultimate goal for JD I'm advising him to enter the NFL draft this season and get the time needed with professional coaching to improve his game. The extra year will pay huge dividends in a couple years as he grows into a full time NFL starter which I believe he can do.

Are you Mike Detillier?

I don't think any scout will tell him he could improve with more film. He needs more coaching and needs full time devotion to it at the professional level.
He needs to go for his own future.

The time is now for JD to test the NFL waters

Right.
That's why I said reps. He needs pro reps. Full time reps.
Film will help though.

tRant is always a collection of idiots with hot takes but these last weeks since WE WERE IN THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME has absolutely been embarrassing for some folks

You make a solid point that he'll be higher on this year draft boards than next. This year is extremely weak, next year isn't bad

Joe Burrow was a projected 6th round pick going into 2019. Anything can happen.

This wishcasting is pathetic

This year is a weaker QB class than 2024 imo. He needs to go now while his stock is high and he’s fairly healthy. If he has an injury next year like Hooker did this year his stock will fall considerably given his size and ability. If he’s 5th or 6th off the board this year that’s too much to pass up.

JD stays, we lose Nuss to transfer portal
JD leaves, we still lose Nuss because Howard will beat him

What’s funny is that list has a bunch of guys that have returned to school & boosted their draft stock lol

And if Jayden comes back, balls out, and turns himself into a first rounder? What happens then? It happens more than you think. He can 100% work himself into a day 1 pick.

Daniel's isn't staying for the draft.
He's staying so he can raise his middle fingers to the rant "coaches".

Burrow went from a potential mid-round pick (at best) to #1 overall in the span of a season. I'm not saying Daniels could make that drastic of an improvement (we my never see anyone do that again). Kenny Picket went from late-round flier to first round QB in the span of a year.
The physical attributes are more or less already set. 6'3, with great speed (for a QB) and a good enough arm. It's one year of tremendous production that could vault him from afterthought to the 1st round. Which is the same exact thing that happened for Burrow and Pickett. Neither got bigger, stronger, or faster ahead of their final seasons. They just put up huge numbers.
If the thought is that no matter what happens Daniels will not be able to improve on his production this season, then now is probably as good a time to leave as any. But in a SEC where Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee are ALL going to be replacing veteran QBs, the table might be set for Daniels and LSU to have a big season.
