I've seen calls for every LSU QB to be benched. At the end of the 2018 season when it was clear that Burrow had turned the corner finishing with 10TDs vs 1 INT there were posters saying he sucks and the competition was poor so his numbers were inflated. In the off season there were 20+ page threads with some arguing Burrow would go undrafted. It wasn't until 3-4 games into 2019 before some of those comments went silent.

I love that he's airing it out more, but I'd love it more if he would lead his receivers (just like he did for Nabers in the corner of the endzone) so they can catch it in stride instead of slowing down and allowing the DB to make a play.

If you just go back and watch the 2nd half again, you'll be happier.

Because I’m deep balls it is what you are taught to do. Put as much air on the ball as possible and let your WR adjust to make the play.

The WR has zero chance to adjust to an overthrown ball.

correct. At first, this board was bitching that JD should "just put throw the ball in the air and trust his WRs". Now that he's doing that, the goalposts have been moved. He needs to be capable of hitting them at full speed every single time.

Again the standard that these dweebs are holding JD to are ridiculous. He wasn't on in first half but he wasn't that bad either. First pass he had 2 coming in his face and one from backside. he had to do a quick pump fake or the Defender bats the ball down and then had to throw around the defenders and it went into the ground. If he throws it over them he has to float it and risks an interception. Actually a good decision by him. Not his fault. Next pass was low to Nabors but still should have been caught. Went right through his arms. He threw another one in 3rd qtr low to Taylor that again should have been caught. yes it was low but hit his hands. The long pass that hit Nabors in the helmet was a 50/50 ball that would have been caught but the DB pulled Nabors arm down. Should have been PI but they didn't call it yet people here were saying what a bad pass it was. Ridiculous. Burrow threw those all the time. Then he goes 75 yds in 18 seconds at end of the 1st half and was lights out after that in 2nd half and you still have bitchez on here complaining. 20 - 29 and he really only threw 3 "bad" passes. What a bunch of morons.

We don’t get 300+ yds & 4TDs very often in Tiger Stadium

Was Brian Thomas the other co-player for catching all those underthrown passes?

We have the best starting QB in the SEC. And it’s really not close.

You just gotta laugh at the Daniels haters at this point.

LSU fans always want the backup.
even when the races of the QB's are flipped.

Rohan was clearly the fan favorite over Booty.
during a National Championship season there were lots of call to bench Flynn in favor of Perrilloux.
in '08, the fans wanted Jefferson to take over for Lee. by 2011 they want Russell Sheppard to be the QB.

it's still an impressive stat, but it stills needs to be put into some context.

this is his 5th year as a starter.
nowhere near "thousands" of QBs even had 5 years of playing eligibility.

It is, but he won two SEC Offensive Player of the Week Awards last year against Ole Miss and Bama (and Bama ended up ranked in the top 5).

We’ve had exactly ONE QB in LSU history that didn’t “leave a lot to be desired at times”.

I think it's more infuriating that he is on pace to have one of the best QB seasons we've ever seen at LSU yet every thread has posts either shitting on him or backhanded compliments like your post.

It’s a very odd thing for sure. It’s almost like there is some other reason behind the hate…..
