I still dont understand how UGA has these guys come out of freaking nowhere though.

I guess the SEC just looked the other way when UGA was accused of sign stealing a couple of years ago?

Anything happen with the UGA pitchers caught in the bullpen putting stuff on their hands/glove before going in games?

Nope. Wes Johnson did realize a douchey (typical for him) statement though:
quote:

"I don't have time in my day to deal with online, subjective distractions. We teach our players to play by the rules".
I remember watching Skenes (and other pitchers) go right to the belt after pitches in 2023 and assuming that's where the sticky stuff was coming from. Pretty certain of it now after watching how UGA operates under that dick head.

Waited for a few years before making a comment on it

Skenes against WF. Skenes did it more than anyone. Could have been nothing, but I remember seeing it in like his first start and being keenly aware of it after that. Happened in between almost every batter

Hurd against UF. Hurd did it a ton too. Don't feel like looking through everyone again, and it could have just been an adjustment/tick, but it seemed so obvious in real time.

Or they’re adjusting their pants after pitching.

But they do check hands and gloves coming in and out of games. Probably cuts out the serious stuff.

Very possible. It looks super innocous when you see it once. When you see it over and over again throughout the season, with it almost exclusively coming between at bats, you start to get a little suspicious

I don't really care. I bet those kids hitting against him hoped Skenes had the most control possible, for their own health. But I just can't stand the way Wes carries himself and acts holier than thou, when he's a notorious cheater.

For sure. Spider tack days are long gone.

The last time Wes Johnson was @ LSU, Jay literally called the pitches from The SEC Tournament on. Sure. Continue on with your revisionist history nonsense.

Wes wasn't even doing mound visits

UGA was caught by Tenn illegally stealing signs and turned into the SEC but the SEC did nothing

Part of the reason their home/road splits have been so drastic last couple of years

I saw that they're hitting under .200 in Omaha.

Purely coincidental I'm sure.

They were caught on camera doctoring gloves and the SEC did nothing. Wes is a fig.

There were pretty strong rumors that Jay put Wes on the bench for the '23 run.

If there was a team which I'd want to check for loaded bats, it would be Georgia.

Pretty sure the Georgia job was in the works before too much post season in 2023. I remember Wes was not at the championship celebration and saw very little of him in Omaha.

I think he interviewed when we played there the last week of the regular season.

And the news of him taking the job was announced within minutes of us winning the super regional. Jay was not happy about that at all.
