3 mil for that guy seems cheap.
Here is another way to look at it

3 million to someone who doesn’t return a profit more often than not

Not my money so glad we are paying him to keep him but it’s crazy a college baseball coach will make 3 million when his program will lose 1 million a year on average

Worth it for the future Nick Saban of college baseball.

Good. Now that poster that made 5 different posts about this topic over the summer can find something else to bitch about.

Baseball does not lose $1 million a year. It struggles to break even or make a profit, but the net loss is usually negligible. Also the net profit/loss does not factor in the exposure LSU receives from the program.

It lost $2 million in 2023-2024. The Omaha run and title will probably bring that make up closer to even this year, but with the coaching salaries and expenses it's pretty much running underwater every year

He’s not done either. I think he wants to be the best ever. Or in the conversation.

Found one. Let me guess you think the P and L LSU puts out on sports revenue is accurate?

LSU baseball does just fine.

CJJ is the quintessential great coach. He’s brilliant at every facet of the game, plus coaching dynamics and hard working. Well deserved.

Oh really?

It’s not about returns. The people who pay him want to win and don’t care about getting anything back other than championships.

We’ve done this too many times and I’m not getting into it again. The way LSU reports revenue per sport excludes a lot of actual revenue that is generated by the sport, but not necessarily directly.
