I am not a huge baseball fan but I am a huge Tiger fan - because I am not that invested in LSU baseball (although I do follow them) I try to stay pretty objective about the program - JJ is in a group of about 5 coaches that one could say are the best in the game - while it is hard to prove that he is the best in that group, it would be very difficult to argue that he is not - the bottom line is that LSU baseball had an off year and it appears that there were a lot of factors that all came together the contributed to the off year (talent, injuries, the cohesiveness of the team, etc.) - anybody who thinks that LSU would be better served than having someone other than JJ at the helm is delusional - dude knows his shiite, knows how to coach (in game and otherwise), knows how to recruit, and certainly gives you confidence when he speaks

What transfer was good? Moore? He pitched like 1.5 SEC games.

If our two best pitchers got hurt for most of the season, that doesn't say much for the kid that was supposed to be a 1st round draft pick who just completed his sophomore season if you don't think he's better than a transfer from Kansas who barely pitched this year.

Jay Johnson is a fricking baseball genius.
He wasn't a fricking baseball genius in constructing this roster that just produced one of the all-time poorest seasons in recent LSU baseball history. (Recent = Skip Bertman era to Current)

LSU isn't paying him 3 MILLION to make mistakes like that.

Who do you want to be our coach since you don’t want Jay?

I have full confidence that we will be back in Omaha because Jay works his tail off, but if we don’t, I don’t care if we go 0-30 in SEC play.

So, you think we will be back in Omaha but actually don't care if they lose every game.

Jay spent over a million on his roster for a storied program in LSU. Chris Curry at Little Rock spent under 100k on his. Curry is in a Super regional and 2 wins away from Omaha and Jay is at home. When he was at Arizona he didnt go to the post season 3 yrs straight(add covid but his team was terrible that year too)

Id say there are several good coaches who could do Jay's job at LSU.

So, no I for one do not believe he is the best coach in America.

LSU baseball is a stapled brand in college baseball with superior resources. LSU baseball is like a triple crown winning horse. All the jockey has to do is his "job" correctly and he will win riding that horse.

Laval did it a couple times getting deep into the post season
Pm did it several times
Jay has done it
Next good candidate coach will also do it.
Its not rocket science obviously from the coaches mention above with Laval and PM when you got a stud program like LSU baseball.

I can name 20 more.

To say Jay is the best coach in America is not totally accurate. Jmo.

Say what you want about titles then ill say look at this horrible season. We went 9-21.

Lsu is the horse
Jay is just the jockey.

End of the story.

lol registered on 5/26/26.

Stop responding to these astroturfing bots.

Nobody thinks a coach that went 9-21 in conference is best coach in America.

I never said he wasnt the man for the job. To say that Jay however is the best coach in America is not a accurate assessment. There are several good coaches out there atm.

One down year can happen.
Two down years and then I would be more concerned.

The conference record during his time at LSU is barely above .500 at .517 (77-72). He needs to get those numbers up.

People can bitch and moan all they want, but this thing just has to play itself out and hopefully he is better with the NIL transfers this time around.

You can say the same thing for DVH, Sully, vandy’s coach, etc etc. So Chris Curry is now better than all these guys? I understand the analogy you were trying to use, but it was a piss poor one.
