I know I am beating a dead horse here, but I’ve seen threads from retards about firing Yeskie and firing Jay if we have a shitty season. I have full confidence that we will be back in Omaha because Jay works his tail off, but if we don’t, I don’t care if we go 0-30 in SEC play. Jay Johnson is a fricking baseball genius. He lives and breathes baseball. Maybe the best talent developer ever. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Skenes was known more for his hitting than his pitching at Air Force. Jay and Yeskie turned him into the best pitching prospect maybe ever. He is so ridiculously good at finding and bringing talent to campus. He had the worst luck possible this year with no one really panning out and so many injuries, but he brought us from the darkness of the PM years and won a CWS in 2 years. And I think if Jake Brown makes that catch then we’re making it to at least the winner’s bracket in the CWS. The next year, he wins another title. Then, while this year’s team didn’t pan out, even with everyone having an extra month of transfer portal, he still put together a more than solid transfer class on paper. While they were arse and the team was arse, I think it is ridiculous to have a sliver of doubt about the man. He’s still the best coach in College Baseball, and he is going to remind everyone that this year. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk and, to those who doubt Jay, stop being a retard. Baseball isn’t Football. Don’t compare the 2.

Sorry I was a little annoyed reading threads about people doubting Jay, didn’t realize how long this is.

And to think many posters believe CJJ is on the hot seat over a down year. There is not a college baseball coach out their that is better than CJJ.

Exactly. I don’t understand it. The man could win 10 straight and people would still be calling for his job after one down year.

Anyone that thinks that should not be taken seriously about anything, ever.

You know I may have overdone it, but my point still remains. Name a coach you’d rather have than Jay.

one down year

i mean you don't have to be obtuse either.

2026 featured the worst pitching staff in modern LSU history, striking out on every single incoming transfer, losing 2/3 of your SEC games, getting swept like 3 weekends in a row, etc.

saying johnson should be/is on the hot seat going into 2027 is deeply retarded, but it wasn't just your average down year for LSU.

Honestly, as a guy who enjoys hitting more than pitching, Jay Johnson is the absolute perfect coach

His offenses even in down years have been very good

Pitching needs a lot of work but I trust Jay when it comes to hitting

also this is a hot take but if Jake Brown or cooper more don't get hurt, we make the regionals and dont get swept by miss state, georgia, or florida

You also don't have to be hyperbolic about it.

You did not strike out on the entire portal class, you lost your two best pitchers for large swaths of the season, multiple starting position players missed significant time, and your best player came into the season injured.

Losing 2/3 of your weekend rotation will make a college pitching staff much, much worse.

It's okay to say the season was horrendous, but you can't do so without acknowledging why.

fans are upset after a horrible year...not surprising. fans can say some irrational things after a horrible year...not surprising. Best thing to do IMO is forget the season and move on. There really isn't much to defend JJ about for this season...it sucked and didn't meet what we expect from our baseball program

I like Jay too.

Yeskie had absolutely zero to do with Skenes.

Come on bruh.
