Context matters though. No it is not a successful season. But when you are a multi national championship winner in still a pretty young career it is good enough for now.

Okay Sparky, a little historical perspective for you....LSU has won eight NCAA National Championships in college baseball, with only two coming in even years, 1996 and 2000. The other six were won in odd years (1991, 1993, 1997, 2009, 2023 and 2025).
It is time for you to put on your helmet, get on the short bus, and pay attention in remedial math class in order to learn what numbers are even numbers and what numbers are odd numbers.

CJJ's last team at Arizona came within one out of winning the CWS. That would have given him 3 national championships. His team 2 years ago came within one out of hosting a Super Regional....with the Box's reputation, that would have given him a real chance at returning to Omaha. As the old blues saying goes: you can't fix stupid.
