How many of those are pitchers? Typically you don’t have an Omaha team if you don’t have at least one first rounder at pitcher.

Do you think LSU can win a series against Tennessee with our pitchers?

Vandy won it last year because they had two first round pitchers. LSU has zero.

Let it play out. Johnson needs to be able to improve the pitching staff.

It could. But, until it does, it was just one game.

Precisely. We have a much larger sample size of the opposite of what we saw tonight. This is a good start, and what we want to see, but it won't mean much if they come out and get pancaked tomorrow. Need to see this over a decent stretch (the quality of play and at bats, not the score, itself.)

Who are the 3 sure first round picks? Berry and who else? More importantly, who is a sure first round pitcher on the team?

Um might need to study up on LSU if you think Berry is the only first round guy. In fact he’s not even the highest rated.

Got to have pitching to make a run. LSU does not have that.

While we don't have three great starters, we do have a serviceable group of pitchers, if managed right. I think CJJ is close to having them figured out, and how to best use them.

A “serviceable” group of pitchers won’t get you to Omaha. If LSU does get there it will be because we eliminated most of our errors and the staff improved dramatically.

You can’t call someone skeptic for showing caution after one lopsided win, especially after the past few games. Nobody can say this team is the worst ever and Jay Johnson needs to be fired either. It’s just a bunch of jumping the gun all over this board.

Can we stop overreacting to one game? I mean that both ways, don’t need to overreact to a loss or a win. Baseball is a long season let’s give it time.

I enjoyed last nights win, I hope it sparks a huge turnaround but it was one game, let’s enjoy it.

GREAT team win last night - hitting, pitching, and fielding.
Do it AGAIN today boys, and keep building on it.

Right. Rightfully so because of the....

large sample size of very mediocre baseball with lots of errors, poor hitting, and shaky pitching.

I never thought “he” looked bad but I had been frustrated over the team’s play.

You know the same logic could be applied to losing a game

Win today and we are at .500 in SEC play and are a costly error in game 2 vs A&M away from being where we need to be at 4-2. Pitching is still a concern, but there are a lot of capable arms who could emerge over the season. Fix the errors, get more timely hitting, and they’ll be fine. Don’t and they will be mediocre.

Yes that would be nice if people didn’t overreact like morons after a loss but I won’t ever expect differently
