Both have 64+ teams in the tournament. Football only has 12 and they wasted two spots this year because of the dumb way they set up the playoffs. They were living in the past when there were 5 legit conferences. That isn't the case anymore.

Almost half the teams make the freaking playoffs at this point. Not comparable.

I guess you don’t realize how anemic our o-line is. We barely beat Western Kentucky by 3.

6 with the top 2 getting a bye with the BCS system would be perfect. BCS was much better than this CFP committee bs

I’ll give them credit for not quitting. They came out in the 2nd half like their hair was on fire.

This! You will get a deserving champ every year, and every game of the regular season will stay important.

JM beats Tulane 8/10 times but loses to Texas, Vandy and ND 100/100 times.

12 is not the problem it’s the 12 best. Not one person that seriously follows college football would objectively say Tulane or James Madison is one of the top 12 teams.

Bingo. My same wishes.

When you have two of the twelve playoff teams as, basically, three touchdown underdogs, that is a flaw in the system. You can love or hate Notre Dame but they are light years ahead of Tulane and Madison.

Let’s not look past, Oregon is still Oregon. High flying offense but gave up 34 to James Madison. They play a team with a defense and an average offense they usually lose. It’s always been the Oregon formula and it received praise with no titles.

These schools have ZERO chance.

Neither does half the field for March Madness. There has never been a seed lower than an 8 win it all. May as well just cut the field in half and go with 32 teams, right?

did you just look at the final score?

Because Oregon led 48-13 late third quarter. It's common for team to pull starters and take their foot off the gas, both offensively and defensively, with such a big lead.

I watched the game . JM was punting when the guy blocking wasnt paying attention , got blocked into the punter and was kicked in his butt ! This resulted in a duck scoop and score . Then , on a kickoff , the kicker kicks a 15 yard line drive into a duck players helmet and the ball bounces 90 degrees out of bounds . Duck ball at nearly mid field . JM really belongs competing for the natty !

The announcer on the Tulane game admitted Tulane did not belong , and said they would have to watch the JM game to see if they were semi competitive vs Oregon . Apparently they let JM and Tulane in to avoid a lawsuit , accd to the announcer . But … if nobody watches the games after halftime …
advertisers dont like that .

You can say they didn’t belong, but you can’t say they quit! Proud of those young men.
