Jamarcus has outstanding talent in what he does as an athlete. The problem a lot of people had and have with him (including myself) is that they feel he's not the brightest bulb in the room. Showing up to training camp in this condition only goes to affirm that feeling.

I wish him all the luck in the world, and thank him for his achievements at LSU, but I'm not gonna kiss his arse like some of you and bet the house on his future. Some times the obvious can't be ignored.

Not a big deal. He'll lose the weight before training camp is over with.

didn't read the whole thread, so sorry if this duplicates, but a lot of his work ethic issues could be forgotten quickly if can get into camp, focus, and just play more or less like he did the last 2 games of last season.

Is that Jeff Garcia, 15 years senior, standing next to him in peak shape? That is sad JR, get your shite together.

You guys don't get it ... a pro athlete's most valuable asset is his body. You don't ignore it 6 months out of the year and then start taking care of it when training camp starts. JR should be focusing on the playbook and getting in synch with his receivers, not conditioning.

JR's biggest problem right now is immaturity, it will take awhile for him to "growup".

agreed, learned long ago can't change other folks.

I think JR has a solid if not breakout season. For all the talk in the media, it amazes me that the same type of label hasn't been placed on Leinart or VY for that matter. Yeah I know a 10th pick and a 3rd but still

Jamarcus is the most hated/disliked Tiger in recent memory. Every freaking thread that is started about him ALWAYS end up being super negative. When he was a Tiger, what did he do to make you idiots hate him so much? Win? Represent the university with class? Stay out of trouble? Become the 1st Pick in the NFL draft? Help with Katrina? Stay out of trouble during and post LSU? Lead us to a Sugar bowl win and a #2 final ranking after his JR year; setting up the Championship run? Have a ridiculous QB rating?

The only thing that I can think of is one of two things:

1. Jealousy
2. Race

As much as I try not to bring number 2 into the question, it just amazes me that one of the top 2 or 3 Quarterbacks in the HISTORY of LSU football has such a negative image among some LSU supporters and all they want to do is wish that he is unsuccessful so they can feed their feeble minded egos. Frick you haters!

ftw, regarding jamarcus

Because clearly not giving a shite is surely on his way to the HOF being a QB.

Look, I defended him all last year all over the place but his not caring is getting un-defendable. He just had an okay first season starting at best and both years now going into the season he has not been doing a proper work out regimen to keep in shape and this year when he was saying he's going take charge he doesn't even show up to one OTA.

He really needs to get his shite together because this is not how a franchise QB is supposed to act.

I thought this was interesting and the cotrast is evident.

"Just a little something on Buster:

Scott Bair, from the North County Times, reports Craig Davis has been catching passes virtually nonstop. He's been Philip Rivers' favorite target during the first three days of training camp, and has hauled in most everything thrown his way."

Hmmm?

I bet he came to camp in shape since his future in SD depends on it.

it's not a weight issue, it's a commitment and discipline issue...
