So it's irresponsible to not cater to you? Got it.

In this case, no.

Tulane's still playing in New Orleans, so why wouldn't LSU play in Baton Rouge?
Storm won't postpone Rutgers-Tulane

I've missed three games due to past hurricanes that went on as scheduled (or rescheduled) in 2002, 2005 and 2008. You'll survive just as I have.

24 hours would make a difference to this season ticket holder as well. If the game is played on Sunday, I will be unable to attend as I have business to take care of on Monday back in Houston. A Sunday kickoff could inconvenience many people like myself but I'm not going to whine about it if they do move it. At the end of the day, it's freaking North Texas. I'll get to see them play UW the next weekend so all is well.

I'm sure Alleva and the Board are trembling over some clown who might threaten them with not renewing his tickets if he misses the North Texas game.

Why? There won't be much difference between Saturday and Sunday regarding restoring power and clean up.

So? I mean I hope everyone recovers, but I don't see why that should delay the game if everything's good to go with the stadium, the city of BR, and assuming UNT can get down here. I guess less people will be travelling here from Nola, but why punish the players by either taking away a game or giving them a short week before UW because some people 80+ miles away don't have power? Don't mean to come off as a heartless son of a B, but if we got the green light from everyone who has a say so then let's do this thing.

Exactly, they won't be moving the game back unless they feel that is their only option. They understand how it changes things for fans that travel to watch the games. They will be doing everything they can NOT to move the game. But if they do it is for the best I believe.

The game will be played as scheduled. Book it!

It is more than just the stadium being OK.
1. Can UNT get here on time? The airport in New Orleans and BTR are still closed; and the storm is moving north which will affect land travel.
2. Parking - where will fans park if all grass lots are not available due to the rain?
3. Tailgating - same issue as #2.
1) fly into LFT
2) I park in Lot A
3) see number 2
GAME ON!

QUICK!!! Everyone go outside and pick up one branch. Hands across Baton Rouge!

I'm sure their team isn't coming in until Friday. They will have no problems flying in. Their 34 fans that are making the drive to BR should be able to make it here unless they are complete dumbasses.

It has stormed in BR before games many times before this weekend, not to mention the lots will have 24-48 hours to dry out.

Some areas might be closed off, people will just have to deal with it.

This was very insensitive of you. If they weren't dumbasses they wouldn't be North Texas fans.

WI'll espn get cameras in here? Or will this be radio only?

They will probably fly in some time today or early Friday and should be fine

The general ignorance of people here never ceases to amaze me. There is so much more that goes into making the decision as to when to play than "it won't be raining Saturday" or "oh the other team can get here, so it should be fine" or "the storm won't even be here any more"
There is the issue of security and the police. Do you realize how many police it takes to run an LSU gameday successfully? From stadium security to traffic and everything in between. If it is determined that there is still a cleanup effort that is needed on Saturday, policing a football game will take the cops away from their normal duties and compromise this effort.
What if there is still widespread power outages? If many of the signals in the town still aren't working on Saturday, can you imagine the nightmare that would exist with 100,000 people trying to get to campus?
Do you people even know for sure that the stadium has power? That has to be checked out before a decision can be made.
What if there is more damage around campus than we know about? An extra day of cleanup may be needed before thousands of people invade.
Nobody at this moment knows the answer to any of these questions. That is why the powers that be at LSU are going to "assess the situation" today and get answers to these questions. It may seem obvious to many of you what should be done...but it really isn't. There are people at LSU who are trained to make these decisions after consulting with all the right people and I trust that they will make the right decision for the community of BR and LSU...even if it may happen to inconvenience a few people.
I guess what I am trying to say is that this decision is not as easy and obvious at it seems...

Didn't realize talking about it on a message board prevented them from assessing the situation.
