There's a lot of talent coming in. I don't see how these guys is gonna make it.
It is some firepower coming in

Id say I saw aloy of potential in Ruckert and has just as good a chance as anyone to play. Patrick can run but he along with Pearson will have to keep up in order to play.

Imo I think

Ruckert plays a lot of innings

Sure, Jay is going to repeat the mistakes he made last year by letting current players go for a group of unknowns? No matter how talented a kid looks in HS or how well a transfer did at his prior program, you never know how they stack up against the talent of SEC competition.

We have no need to let anyone go it seems if we have 7 guys who are DSA'd. We are at the roster limit in that case.

That being said it's always possible for returning players or incoming players to see where they might land on the depth chart after fall practice and decide to hit the portal in the winter or transfer to a JUCO if they believe they wont play much and want to play this year. Thats not something Jay will have to force on anyone though it appears, it would just be their decision.

Looking for jumps in all 3. Pearson greatly improved defensively.
Ruckert and Patrick didn't hit great last year, but didn't look overmatched
at the plate. Typically players like this show great improvement in their second year.

Numerous times in the past there have been players that took big steps and went from a player that didn't look like they had a spot in the lineup to being a main contributor. Unfortunately we have had players that have done the opposite, so you never know.

The SEC is essentially AA pro ball now. Very very small number of guys can come in straight from HS and start. Any thing you get from a freshman is bonus. Wwe likely already have enough firepower on offense and thenpriority on IF defense is huge after last year.

Big question marks remain on the pitching side. No clear proven fri or saturday SEC starters.

The value of being in LSU's program for a year utilizing the weight room staff, nutrition staff, the swing data, the pitching lab data, the simple fact of being around high level baseball players constantly is something that needs to be considered when comparing incoming freshman. The guys coming in have been "The Guy" everywhere they go. Let them get around some guys that push the limits a little more, show them that there's another level, then see where they are come January/February. The Ruckert, Patrick, and Brauns you saw playing their tails off to end the year are completely different players than what walked on campus last year. I wouldn't write Ruckert or Patrick off as fast as a lot of people are seeming to do.

You have no idea what’s actually coming in. You have potential that has never played at this level.

Not Ruckert and Patrick, but if anyone is going to be "processed", Pearson and maybe Yamin stick out.

I may be wrong, but I feel like Ruckert is going to develop into a damn good player.

Patrick may as well.
