If you plan on keeping McMahon why even waste nil$ on a roster
That’s what I’m saying too. Give him $1M in total for the roster and force him to play a hard out of conference schedule.
If he wants to stay here, make it absolutely miserable.

That’s what I’m saying. They can’t even sniff a 68 team field once in how many seasons?

I don’t think any other program has accomplished this it’s been over 4 years since we won 3 conference games in a row

From ChatGPT
Odds of Missing Four Years in a Row
Using the simple independent model (which overestimates the real odds since teams are not independent from year to year and performance isn’t random):
Probability of missing once ˜ 30 % (0.30)
Probability of missing four consecutive years ˜
0.304 ˜ 0.0081, or about 0.81 %
So under this approximation:
?? A typical SEC team has about a 0.8 % chance of missing the NCAA Tournament four seasons in a row — or put another way, it’s roughly 1 in 120 odds if each season were random with a 70 % make-rate.

We are the only sec school to not make the tournament at any point over the last 4 years.
Mizzou has a 0 win conference season in that and McLoser is still worse

His college HC and mentor was a failure at Tennessee just before Bruce Pearl got the job there and if you watch those old Tennessee games, their teams look nearly identical to McMahon’s at LSU. It’s crazy how similar they are and how any AD couldn’t see that unless he didn’t vet the hire at all.

The 1986 team had Ricky Blanton, Don Redden (RIP) and Anthony Wilson and were an 11th seed.
That is when I went to LSU. Great Basketball environment. In 86, went to final four. In 87, went to the Elite Eight.
Student section filled up hours before big games. I remember one game (that was played on a Sunday Afternoon, I think it was against North Carolina) where we had to camp out over night to get in.

Fat Scott didn’t vet any of his hires that’s pretty clear at this point.
There were a lot of signs McLoser wouldn’t fit here once you got past his record. He had never been at this level, the Murray state coaches before him didn’t pan out but yet they kept winning. His mentor being bad in the sec before it was even good at basketball.
It’s clear he just looked at BKs record and threw money to him as any good interview should have rooted out that he was a washed clown.
Bo P he threw a massive contract to a guy that had been out of major football for a few years and it had been like a decade since he was a DC.
Scott looked at record and what we could pay.
To go even further he tried to hire Sully for baseball just based off his record and had to be told no and then tied to do the same on 100 year old Pat Casey who would have never fit here before being told no.
Scott was a lazy AD

That’s what we did, except McCantWin stole an additional 8mill on top of the 12.7mill he’s already stole and paid these REC heroes NIL-
Refresh my memory wasn’t his best team the one he had no money for.
It has become ridiculous and embarrassing for any MBB fan to be associated with this Staff.
McMen yall should be ashamed of yourselves for convincing others of your ilk that McLoser is a good Coach. Better yet the Hate you have for WW, anyone who knows anything knows The General is the only MFer that can get us out of this black hole!

They’ve had two top 20 portal classes in the past 3 seasons.
Portal rankings are a crapshoot.
Some level players can’t adjust. Others come from larger programs and there was a reason why they weren’t getting playing time
Some lower level players do adjust but it’s like throwing the football, only 3 things can happen and 2 are not good

how are you skipping over the Will Wade era!!!!!?

I'll put it this way - I don't think we've had top tier SEC talent during CMM's tenure - and in that he bears some responsibility - but I'll add that I don't think the talent has been as bad as the results. And that is his responsibility as well IMHO.
We don’t have the talent coaching or resources to compete at the highest levels of the SEC much less NCAA
But we do have talent and resources to be playing on Friday in the SECT and a 9 to 11 NCAAT seed.
That’s on coaching

Having you coach would be better than rehiring Wade.

LSU has the resources to compete...even if they are not being tapped at the moment. It just doesn't have the HC to do so...or get anywhere close. If "money" was all it took to be great, then Kentucky would be running away with the SEC and a (soon to be No. 1 seed) rather than having the same record as Texas A&M and fighting to stay off the 8/9 seed line. Florida would not have won the NC last year. Golden, who was hired within a day of McMahon, wasn't given a bottomless pit of money to build his program. Auburn would be getting in position to return to the Final Four rather than having to beat LSU just to get into the Tournament. Most notably, Indiana wouldn't be 27-2 with a NC over the last two years if money was all that mattered.
The right HC matters more than anything. He is the tip of the spear. Get that guy and everything follows. Wins, support, money, etc.

We talked about this last season, the constant flood of excuse making and false narratives by you know who has infected the normal fans. They don’t necessarily agree with the mcmen but they’re sort of rationalizing in that way. This happens in any sport where you keep a loser for too long, the perception from the fans begins to be corrupted.

Yes.
The services cater to the fans, LSU had a lot of fans. They want lots of clicks and we provide.
It was the same in football.

Football? Certainly possible. Baseball? Certainly possible. Basketball? Get real.
We haven’t had elite talent the last 4 seasons, but we’re not 54 SEC losses talentless.

I was speaking generally.
But the services cater to their customers on a year tound basis so I’d bet they help us a bit.
I’ve followed MBB for a long time. The talent we have now is subpar. We aren’t very athletic.
