You can thank Will Wade and his dumbassery for this season

You can also thank him for the excitement/entertainment the last few years.
Will Wade didn't hire Johnny Jones nor McMahon.
He certainly was entertaining.
I thought sports was part of the entertainment business. Are you being entertained? If not blame Woody and not Wade.

I think he was a very good young coach who could’ve been great and did a fantastic job of knowing how to schedule and how to recruit the best players that weren’t necessarily high NBA draft picks. All the 4 and 5* guys like Emmitt Williams who the blue bloods weren’t after he prioritized. He was also able to steal a guy here and there like Naz and Smart.

I'd like to argue this but I can't.

I'm just concerned that individual players haven't really seemed to improve much this season. Fountain and hayes (maybe because of injury) have plateau'd and reed still seems like the same guy from November.

I'm not ready to send CMM down the river or anything but I haven't seen anything to boast about yet.

CMM isn’t a good fit for LSU basketball. The program needs someone with passion who can promote the team and encourage the fans to go to the games

When you look at the three best LSU coaches in my lifetime, Dale Brown, John Brady, and Will Wade, I think the idea that there is a "good fit" is not really held up by that. I think the "good fit" idea has more to do with boosters and recruiting. When a guy is coming into a basically torn-down program he creates the fit, if you give him time. I think it will really take 3 seasons to know if MM works here or not. If recruiting in season 3 looks as bad as it does right now in season 2 (that can change quickly though) it may signal an exit then.

WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP SAYING THIS? I have no idea but having the MVC POTY and 2 others from a team that won 30 games and a tournament game last season to a bad TAMU and this asswhipping today is totally unacceptable. Think about the talent still here that played a ton of minutes or was going to play in Miller last season. Then those 4* freshman who can’t do shite sitting there. I mean there is no excuse for these last 3 games not being competitive. I don’t care about losing by 30 to Bama as much as the trend and not really being competitive. That is concerning. This team is S O F T!

There is plenty of talent to not look like complete garbage against bad teams so stop with this message.

This is 100% accurate. This team is toilet paper soft. The effort level is bad. I expected them to lose a lot this year but I also expected to see some building foundation. The last 3 games have been terrible.

Bama took 54 3 pointers. Sooner or later you have to put some effort in and run out at a guy.

In the second half the same Bama player took 3 wide open threes on back-to-back-to-back possessions from the same exact spot on the floor. No one got out on him within 8 feet on any of the shots. I could see once but 3 times in a row???? A rec ball coach would have called a time out to fix that but MM didn’t. Gives me a bad feeling of what’s going on there.

I think we are all in the same boat of needing to get more talent into the program and its obvious some things were out of his hands coming into a transition period where the program had like maybe 2 scholarship players after the Wade saga and having to patch up the team from the portal from a collection of pieces who may not be the best

The lack of production AND development from his recruiting class that was in the top 20 is most concerning to me. Most of us knew a lot of the parts assembled from the portal were going to be a temporary thing until better talent can get recruited in but his first recruiting hall (which on paper looked very good) has been a pretty gigantic failure. Ward and Reed give us almost nothing and we haven't seen any type of development in the first year on an already pretty limited team.

McMahon is in over his head. The team is never prepared and cannot adjust during games. It’s mid major basketball vs a power 5 conference that’s getting better with better coaching every year.

if WW didnt try to play gangster and also be incredible inept at it, we might have a different team. Either way, basketball sucks.

I hate when people say dumb shite like this. You know what makes someone a good fit? Winning. That is the same for every sports team in the country. No one cares if a coach has a funny personality. If the coach is winning and fans are still stupid enough to not go to games then that’s their own problem.

Bama is pretty good also. LSU is the worst rebounding and passing team I've seen in a long time. That can be coached, but apparently isn't. LSU may very well not win another game.

What worries me is how the light just turned off after the Kentucky loss.

Beat a highly ranked Arkansas by playing tough. Stayed close to a fully healthy Kentucky on the road.

And, then the bottom dropped out.

This is when coaches show their true abilities.

We don't have scorers

Somehow y’all think us plucking bench players from other big schools and starters at a mid major is going to turn it around in one year. Ridiculous. The great class we had is good for the future, but anyone who knows basketball knows that most bigs take longer to develop than guards do. That’s why our freshmen are “underperforming”. It’s par for the course for what we have.

The only bright side that I saw from this game is that we played Alabama nearly even in the 2nd half against their starters. Brandon Miller was taken out at the 8 minute mark, and we were down at that point by 40. We started the 2nd half down by 37, so we essentially played them evenly. MM obviously made some adjustments to go from scoring 22 in the first half to 44 in the 2nd half. For a while, I didn't think we make it to 50, so that was encouraging. It reminds me of a bunch of other games this year where we only played well for half of the game. MM just needs to get the team to play complete games. I think we did that against Arkansas, so they've proven that they can do it. There is something there that MM can use to teach.

It’s his first season. He inherited a roster with 0 players. All predictions said we would be one of the worst teams this year. If y’all are so good at coaching, why are y’all in different professions?

The guy had to build this team literally from nothing. The best player is a 5th year senior big he brought with him from Murray St, and the guards are absolutely terrible. Can we not judge him on a team he put together overnight from scratch.

I was probably the biggest wade fan and hate woody for how he treated our program. However, I gave MM a shot. I wanted to just go with who cares this year. The problem with MM is not only is he getting beat like a drum on the court, off the court he isn’t recruiting. I’m seeing less and less of a chance that he can compete in the sec today.

The firing of Wade is done and it was a mess. The bigger concern is Woody hiring MM. wade had people a cited and ready to go to games and donate. MM has managed to deflate that pretty quick. If woody would have nutted up and made a big splash hire, I don’t think the future looks as grim. It can be done even with sanctions possibly looming that you get a big name and wait.

TOSU hired Urban while they were sanctions looming.

Woody made the wrong move twice with bball and it’s looking bad.

It’s probably for the best. LSU can’t have more than two nice things at once.
