100% this. They are telegraphing the run plays. Bama coaches basically admitted they knew what every play was yet there was no reaction from Tiger nation. He needs a run game coordinator or something

Do you have a link to this?

I told people on here that nuss has a tell when it's a run play. He leans forward. Also, Sloan was predictable. They need to bring in a real oc.

27 rushes for 114 yards and a 4.2 yard average with an offensive line that was mostly second string.

And for years, Les did that to every team not in Crimson, it’s little wonder he was resistant to change.

This…..we continually run RPOs with a qb who basically will never pull it and run. RPOs are great with someone like Jayden Daniels at qb. I feel like we shoukd be under center more with nuss to have the rbs running more down hill when they get the ball plus we could actually sale a play action fake

It sure feels like we have some tells. Some of it is personnel. I think Aranda made a comment about it. They seem to run Kaleb Jackson straight up the gut too often as an example.

we dominated teams by running over them most of my LSU life (late 60’s). we would wear out others teams and owned them for years in the 4th quarter. Sabin/Miles won many games this way, and with solid defenses. Then everybody here wanted “pass happy” offense when Les’s didnt change and we got lucky and now spoiled with Burrow/Daniels. we dont dominate teams anymore. we hurry up and score and our defense is gassed at the end vs the other teams defense. OL is all about pass protection vs run blocking.

ironically, it seemed to start when we stop chanting

“ Hot boudin, cold couche-couche, come on Tigers, poosh poosh poosh”

Do you not agree that Nuss is no threat to run?

And going under center situationally is actually smart coaching. It makes the other team have to practice against one more wrinkle.

Even the Commanders with Daniels had a 4th and 1 the other night and Daniels went under center.

And you “can” pass from under center. Football has been played that way since its inception.

Durham averaged 5.5 ypc for the season and played the 2nd half of the year with a bad foot that slowed him down. He was 5th in the SEC as a true freshman in ypc.

Josh averaged 4.1 ypc for the season. Speed matters and if we average 5.5 ypc next year, we’ll finish in the top 3 or 4 in the SEC with probably the top passing game.

The new recruits will get us there. RBs in this offense need the vision to run through creases and explode into the next level. Also, dump passes and screens to the RB are effectively runs.

The main issue is red zone running which is where we were weak this year. Need to figure that out.

Defenses forced us into what they wanted us to run. Sloan has a lot of growing up to do in that position. Not sure why BK wouldn’t try to get a proven OC.

No one would know who Hester is if he played behind our Oline.

The problem with the offense was turnovers. Otherwise, they moved the ball well and even were efficient in the red zone. They only ran 61 offensive plays. That happens when you get two return TDs, have 2 turnovers early in drives, and the defense can’t get the other team off the field. They only punted once and scored 3 TDs in 4 red zone trips. That’s good efficiency apart from the turnovers and the blocked FG. I’m not sure where you saw the running game holding them back.

Those are interesting stats, but it doesn’t necessarily prove that going under center is more efficient. It could be that the teams that went under center more frequently in those situations were just more efficient running teams to begin with.

ASU went under center & handed off to Skattebo for 2 points.

And ASU has been a bad short yardage team otherwise this season? They have one of the two best RB in the country. Even if one example weren’t completely useless in trying to make a generalization, an example using a great RB certainly is. It only reinforces the point I was making about the stats you posted. Without context, we don’t know if they tell us anything.

ASU had gotten stuffed on downs earlier in the game running out of shotgun.
