It’s refreshing to see that on paper we finally have a backend that feels like LSU

Speed, athleticism and length everywhere in both the cb and safety rooms. In less than 2 years Corey Raymond has already rebuilt the cb room and filled with long , fast athletes. The safety room should also be better with the addditon of haulcy and Cooley, paired with high upside young guys like spears and rogers.

Then you have exciting young guys who may not have a. Huge role this year but will be good players for us in the future in Aidan Anding and Jhase Thomas. Can’t wait to see these guys match up against a strong Clemson wr room right off the bat !!

The Safety Room should be better with Lance Guidry coaching them up; haven't been too impressed with Blake Baker BBQ Buddy Jensen so far.

When you have to hire coaches to "Hold the Hand" of existing position coaches because they're "In over their Head" at this level, you're just openly admitting you made weak hires. (Same situation with OL Coach Croom-Davis with BK bringing in Atkins to coach TE's and "Help Out" with the Running Game)

If Atkins is going to help out and babysit Croom-Davis with the RG, then who is coaching TE's?

Hey, here's a novel idea. How about just having a great OL Coach that can competently coach both the Running Game and the Passing game and let the Tight Ends coach just coach the TE's......

I know unlikely will happen, but I would be really proud of this team and would think the defense could be a really special unit if we put together a performance like Arkansas a year ago and hold Clemson on the road to 10 or less like winning 31-6. That would be 2011 vibes.

34-10 beatdown of Arkansas last year was quite impressive.

Alex Atkins was hired to perfect LSU's counter-run offense, his specialty. However, it can't hurt to have another Ace recruiter on staff and someone who can help our young OC along the way.

The more the merrier. These other coaches also assist with recruiting.

Not to be a negative Nancy but they have to go out there and prove it. I'm tired of busted coverages and missed assignments on QB draws or options from the safety room. Losing the two people who shall not be named should help with this also. Also, I think we will finally have a solid pass rush again which should contribute to more INTs. Last year I felt like I could count on one hand the amount of interceptions we had.

That would be a huge accomplishment. Hell, I'd be happy holding them to 20 or less.

It seemed like Sage Ryan and Major Burns were here since the Miles’ years.

Major Burns should have about four degrees by now.

Not on the field. He’s a defensive analyst.
